RTVN announce finalists for BJSCXIV

After a rigorous selection process that included artists such as Laura Izibor, Eva & The Heartmakers, The Cardigans, A Camp and West End Girls, The Veronicas and Liz Hodgins amongst others, the final two acts and songs that have been put through to the final of the FSR Rontvia song selection process for BJSCXIV have been confirmed. The acts are upcoming Swedish singer Janet with her brilliant debut single 'Let Go' and electroindiepop lesbian duo Uh Huh Her from the US with the excellent single 'Not A Love Song'. A final decision regarding which song will become Rontvia's 14th entry, aiming to follow in the golden footsteps of Sara Bareilles, Pixie, Maria & Mira, The Sound Of Arrows, Untouched and Sanna Nielsen, will be announced in the coming weeks. You can watch the two songs below.

Janet! =

Uh Huh Her =  and a half :P

So it's a win/win for me. But UHH will undoubtedly do the best out of those two! I can see UHH appealing to more people!

thank you for your input Jonjo, all opinions will be taken into account when choosing the entry...

Uh Huh Her are much higher in my chart, but then I did only hear Janet about an hour before I posted it :heehee:

FSR Rontvia in the Buzzjack Song Contest - I-III video:

"I am not siiinging a love

Siiinging a love song"

properly love these girls and I really don't think there's any competition between those two, my only concern is the only Rontvian songs I've ever liked have flopped... but Rich I really to urge you to send Uh huh her (or the ones with a name similar to that )

I am finding it incredibly hard to make a decision, as I love them both...I might just send one this month and one next month, would save me looking for any more entries for a while and would saitisfy my curiosity :P

I expect these songs to be orgasmic

I've just realised - M.A.G.I.C is my favourite Rontvian entry behind Headhunted :kink:

really :o great to hear, Headhunted was such an undeserved flop

I hope Robyn comes top 5 and then I can say I came top 5 in all three spin-offs so far :heehee:

:heehee: I think she will finish Top 3

Top 3? 2 number 3's :kink:

Rontvian XIV update

It has been announced that FSR Rontvia will prequalify to the final of BJSCXIV, which will mark the 12th time out of 14 contests that the nation will have been present in the BJSC final. In the latest Rontvian charts, Uh Huh Her climbed seven places to No.11 with Not A Long Song whilst Janet rose thirty three places to No.16 with Let Go. A decision on which of these two songs will be Rontvia's next entry is yet to be made.

How do you know you're gonna qualify? If there's an odd number of entries then surely only the Herz will qualify automatically...?

Peter said that it was optional, I said I'd like to qualify and he said that it would be fine

I suppose if there are an odd number of entries, Mdice will auto-qualify too, the same way that three countries pre-qualified in VIII

I thought he meant if there are an even number of entries then he would not automatically force you to qualify but ask you if you wanted to qualify then if you said no he would offer the place to Mdice?

oh really? in that case I completely misunderstood him and should probably retract that 'story' I don't mind one way or the other, I just think it would be silly to pass up a free ticket into the final

edit: you're absolutely right, I've just looked back through the thread and I read it incorrectly probably becuase of my insane tiredness earlier in the week...in that case I might have to rethink my entry and send something guaranteed to qualify just in case!

Rontvian XIV update...again

It has been confirmed that the Rontvian delegation had got it completely wrong, and Rontvia will only qualify directly for the final based on the number of participating countries. In light of this, RTVN are strongly mulling over which of Janet and Uh Huh Her would be most likely to take the country to the final, bearing in mind that another DNQ would hinder the finances of the TV network who get a £20 million grant from the Rontvian government every time they make the final.
