Posted November 26, 200717 yr They have an album release date (Untitled) for March  It seems a bit early for a new album  Still, I still love 'Naive' and 'SMIHOW'
November 26, 200717 yr Still, I still love 'Naive' and 'SMIHOW' Which were released last year.
November 26, 200717 yr I saw the Kooks in 2005 supporting The Subways and they played most of what was to become their first album. So, I'd definitely say they were due a second one...if they weren't so $h!t.
November 26, 200717 yr Apparently they've written 80-90 songs so hopefully that'll mean they have enough good ones to make it even better than the last album.
November 26, 200717 yr By March of next year it'll have been almost 26 months since Inside In/Inside Out was released. And now 2 years is roughly the norm for artists releasing new albums so it'll be about time for them to release a new album. I don't hold much hope for this album though...

The last one sold remarkibly well
November 26, 200717 yr Why? The last one sold remarkibly well  The new songs i've heard from the new albums, are well, terrible. I think they'll have a big lead single and the album will have alright sales, but it won't sell anything like the last one. You've only gotta look at the likes of Kaiser Chiefs, KT Tunstall, James Blunt etc. all had big debut albums but their follow ups have flopped completely in comparison.
November 26, 200717 yr I HATE HATE HATE HATE this band with the most extreme passion imaginable. The worst band to emerge from the scene in recent times, totally generic and unoriginal. I hope they have a BIG sophmore slump with a second album.

But if what Chapstick said about 80-90 songs is right it might mean they have more decsisons to make? There are exceptions though. Just look at Arctic Monkeys (Obviously not puting The Kooks in the same league as Arctics  ) but they had about the same sales for the first album. But it all depends on what the first single is. If it's anywere near as good as Brianstorm I wouldn't be too worried.
November 26, 200717 yr I have a bad feeling that this will flop - the only decent songs from the last album were She Moves In Her Own Way and Naive anyway. They are too generic to be a band apart, imo.
November 27, 200717 yr 'Naive' made me feel sick to the stomach. :puke: I had to endure that awful song too much last year. :(
November 27, 200717 yr The Kooks will fail - radio one won't give them as much airplay and the NME won't cover them. Proof that it was never about their music, just that the fit into last year's 'style'. Who cares whether Luke Pritchard is 'fondant icing' or not anyway?
November 27, 200717 yr I HATE HATE HATE HATE this band with the most extreme passion imaginable. The worst band to emerge from the scene in recent times, totally generic and unoriginal. apart from the enemy that is, as good or as bad as the kooks, but with added face melting uglyness and punchability. I hope they have a BIG sophmore slump with a second album. sophomore slump!?!!? do you write for music week do you?? with all this cultural american imperializm im surprised they dont just list the billboard chart these days!!!
November 27, 200717 yr I really hated the Kooks at first but then i learnt to love the fake accent. :P , on wikipedia apparently he said the 80-90 song thing in a recent interview.
November 28, 200717 yr I'm so excited. I love the Kooks. One of the other interns I work with at umgd told me about them and I love them.
November 29, 200717 yr i can think of a more insignificant band I thought people had come to their senses when i hadnt heard from them in a while
