Posted November 27, 200718 yr Source: Music Week Early retail reports suggest very little movement at the top of the singles chart this week as strong sales look to keep Leona Lewis (Syco) in the number one position for another week. One new entry is expected however in the shape of Call The Shots (Fascination) by Girls Aloud. The latest Xenomania penned release entered the top ten at number nine last week and buoyed by additional physical formats is expected to climb further up the chart this week. Early sales suggest the next single in Sony BMG’s Elvis campaign could deliver similar chart success to its predecessors and enter the top ten next week however elsewhere the chart remains pretty stable with the only other release attracting any considerable sales activity. Editors new single, entitled The Racing Rats (Kitchenware) and released on the Kitchenware label via Sony BMG’s Columbia arm, is currently available on limited edition coloured vinyl and two disc-CD single and early sales look set to take it into the top thirty next week. Elsewhere The Twang’s last single of the year, Push The Ghosts (B-Unique) is failing to connect despite multiple formats in the market. It looks unlikely to enter the top forty next week. As is tradition this time of year the album market is making up for any lulls amongst singles. Strong sales for Shayne Ward’s sophomore album (Syco) look set to contribute to another big week for the Syco label. Early reports Ward’s new album is set to provide the greatest challenge yet to Leona Lewis’ stronghold at the top of the chart, even outselling Kylie at this early stage which is sure to come as a disappointment to EMI. Kylie’s tenth studio album, X (Parlophone), was the subject of a primetime television special over the weekend however the exposure has not been enough to give Minogue the edge she needed at retail. With weekend sales ahead of her however EMI could turn it around to secure at least second place. Elsewhere the top end of the chart is looking fairly steady with just two new entries – both from the UCJ label - expected to crack the top twenty. Russell Watson is enjoying healthy sales with his new studio album, Outside In (UCJ) while the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards are expected to follow closely behind him with Spirit Of The Glen (UCJ). Michael Buble is enjoying a boost in physical sales and is expected to make a significant jump north next week with the special edition of Call Me Irresponsible (Reprise). Repackages are also helping Syco artist Paul Potts to maintain a retail presence as the Christmas edition of his debut album One Chance (Syco)starts to gather pace. Veteran artists such as Led Zeppelin (Atlantic) and The Eagles (Polydor) are continuing to make good inroads at retail and looks set to hold onto a top ten placing next week as do the Spice Girls (Virgin) with the greatest hits collection. ===================================== Singles Top 75 01 Leona Lewis - Bleeding Love 13k 02 Girls Aloud - Call The Shots 10.7k 03 T2 - Heartbroken 9.6k 04 Timbaland - Apologize 05 Take That - Rule The World Top 10 Elvis Presley - An American Trilogy Top 20 Soulja Boy - Crank That (D) Editors - Racing Rats Top 30 Christina Aguliera - Hurt (D) Top 40 Pendulum - Granite Mariah Carey - ALWFC (D) Sugababes - Change (D) Sean Kingston - Me Love Top 50 The Twang - Push The Ghosts Westlife - I'm Already There (D) Pogues - Fairytale Of New York Top 60 Uniting Nations - Do It Yourself Top 70 Paramore Crushcrushcrush Top 75 Newton Faulkner - Teardrop (D) ======================================= Albums Top 75 01 Leona Lewis 44k 02 Shayne Ward 31.9k 03 Kylie Minogue 27.7k Top 15 Russell Watson Top 20 Royal Scots Dragoon Guards - Spirit Of The Glen   Top 30 Connie Talbot Top 40 Paul Potts Top 50 All Angels Teatro Simon & Garfunkel Top 60 Foster & Allen Top 70 Richard Fleeshman Top 75 Justin Timberlake When you ask a question, consider this, before posting read the thread properly as I might have answered your question to a different member, otherwise I will ignore your post next time.

November 27, 200718 yr Are Pendulum gonna be top 10? Wow! Probably slip a bit by the end of the week though. Ok, will we see the first Christmas 'classics' filtering through now? I assume all the compilations are on iTunes now and there's less than a month to go.
