Posted December 4, 200718 yr Lewis continues to reign supreme Source:MW 13:07 | Tuesday December 4, 2007 By Ben Cardew Leona Lewis looks set to spend a fourth week at the top of the albums chart with Spirit, in a quiet week for new releases. Spirit (Syco) is outselling its nearest competitor, Westlife’s Back Home (S), by almost two copies to one, according to early retail reports. The rest of the top five looks likely to be relatively unchanged too, with albums from Shayne Ward (Breathless [syco]), Eagles (Long Road Out Of Eden [Polydor]) and Kylie Minogue (X [Parlophone]) all set to retain their top five placings. There are likely to be just two new entries in the albums top forty – Cascada’s Perfect day (AATW) and the reissue of U2’s The Joshua Tree (Mercury). Lewis’s domination of the singles chart also looks likely to continue, with Bleeding Love likely to notch up a seventh week at number one. Lower down the chart, Elvis Presley looks set for a Top 10 placing with the reissue of Burning Love (RCA). ===================================== Singles 01 Leona Lewis - Bleeding Love 9.7k 02 T2 feat. December 4, 200718 yr i think Leona will do the double again! Hopefully, the Sugas can climb in the album charts seeing as Change is doing so well!
December 4, 200718 yr The Arctics should hit the top 10. Quite who is still buying Leona I don't know, but I guess Simon Cowell can only pay so many more people to do so, so expect both single and album to fall quickly soon.
December 4, 200718 yr i'm gonna predict 1 leona 2 girls aloud 3 t2 4 timbaland 5 take that 6 mark ronson 7 arctic monkeys 9 alicia keys 10 kylie 11 sugababes (AYN) 12 westlife 13 mariah 18 sugababes (Change) 20 pogues

Quite who is still buying Leona I don't know, but I guess Simon Cowell can only pay so many more people to do so, so expect both single and album to fall quickly soon. Na ithe album will keep selling massively till the end of the year. People have Xmas pressies to buy & let's face it with very few names having released in the run up to Xmas there really is little else to buy. Cowell has played a blinder this year as it looks like record labels have held back their big names aware of the Leona promo machine. It's also been a huge benefit to Shayne whose 2nd album would never have graced such a high position especially with sales of under 100k at ths time of year. December 4, 200718 yr Of course her single will fall, its been number one for 6 weeks. Her album sales will start to rise again as xmas approaches. Anway, I think Leonas success is well deserved, she is a great singer and a great ambassador and role model for the UK.
December 4, 200718 yr Great ambassador and role model for the UK? Sorry has she invented the cure for cancer or something?
December 4, 200718 yr Hope GA are still top5, and the Arctics can make it to the top10 :) Oh, and Kylie to climb to #3 please :P
December 4, 200718 yr Great ambassador and role model for the UK? Sorry has she invented the cure for cancer or something? no need to be sarcastic thank you. I mean, she doesnt take drugs or get pissed or generally act like a total plank and I think its great that its looking like she will be very big in the states as well, yes a great ambassador for the UK, uk music needs recognition in the states, its been a long time coming, some uk acts have had moderate success there, but its been a long time since a new UK act was mega over there. Anyway, we aint supposed to argue in this thread, so lets leave it. Edited December 4, 200718 yr by Olympus
December 4, 200718 yr I have a feeling that horrible T2 song will be no1 single, but Leona will stay atop in the album charts.
December 4, 200718 yr UK music needs recognition in the States? By fooling the Americans into thinking it was made by an American by being so damn American in sound that it's massively popular in Britain by proxy due to everyone here loving American pop?
December 4, 200718 yr I would love it if Girls Aloud could climb to the #1 spot this week - or at least #2. There's not really any physical releases that could threaten the top 5 this week is there? I would like Dannii Minogue in the top 10 though - just to spite Louis

I dont want to argue, this thread is not for arguments ok. I have my opninion and thats it, you have yours, now stop arguing..thank you.
December 4, 200718 yr it would be great for GA to climb, but i don't really see it happening. if their physical sales weren't up to their usual standard in the first week (which for them is usually pretty good!) then i doubt they'll somehow pick up, but here's hoping!
