Posted December 8, 200717 yr I thought i might just put this down. Anyone got any ideas on how the chart can improve with songs that everyone wants to get in the top 40 for next year. Me i would like to see maroon 5, hardfi and much more who have flopped with current singles to chart better next year.
December 8, 200717 yr How could the chart be made better? It's as it should be now, with the most-purchased songs getting to the top - no silly download rules or anything daft like that. All that can be done is people supporting their favourite artists more than ever.
December 8, 200717 yr More variety, for the music buying public to be less like sheep and less 'radio 1 friendly' acts that everyone buys because they think they're "cool" for doing so.
December 8, 200717 yr The chart is fine as it is, 100% accurate. I guess more promotion could be done so smaller acts can manage big hits too, but that's nothing to do with the chart really.
December 8, 200717 yr Anastacia to get her first #1 single. BUT on the other hand, a whole new of music shows opened up. We only have T4/Intermission, which are brilliant programmes for music, but whatever happened to Top Of The Pops/CD:UK ? We need some new shows on a new up to date format.
December 8, 200717 yr I agree the charts are 100% fine as they are at the moment! theres been too many changes and additions to it in recent years! just leave it be now! people will always like whats popular, thats what POP music is all about! BUT I would LOVE to see Limewire and the likes banned and shut down, because it's things like that, that is ruining the chart!

We have 'Sound', which is on on a Saturday at about 5:30. It features live acts and interviews. ^_^
December 8, 200717 yr Can't really improve it anymore, its about 100% accurate now. Any song can enter the chart whatever it is.

I agree with the shows! we need a new CD:UK! or just CD:UK back on Saturday mornings! (like the days of Cat D, not that terrible Myleen Klass incarnation of it! :puke2: ) and TOTP should just be brought back at a GOOD slot!

Espescially with the last part, starting with the 4 members of my direct family who all use it :arrr: <_< I hope they don't put airplay into the chart, that would ruin it. December 8, 200717 yr btw I hate the download rules... I want the chart to be based only on real single sales. It was the differense between the US chart which includes ariplay. And now UK chart includes downloads. I don't like it....

And now UK chart includes downloads. I don't like it.... Why the hell would you want that? Could it be because you're beloved boy bands flop under current rules? Well it's their fault if they can't appeal to the singles-buying markets. Downloads represent what the public are truly buying.
December 8, 200717 yr Author All i think is people should support the artists enough not just to get the first single & album but all their single because much people are bothering no more
December 8, 200717 yr DRM free and DRM free music vouchers available. So you could buy them in shop(eg in Sainbury's like itunes cards) and spend them at various legal download sites on the internet.
December 8, 200717 yr All i think is people should support the artists enough not just to get the first single & album but all their si9ngle because much people are bothering no more That's kinda true. I've done this myself, although mainly beacause I prefer physicals and after the Album is released the singles are them not available locally as phycials.
December 8, 200717 yr it needs to be a faster moving chart, I get bored of the same old songs stinking the charts for months and months on end, and ending up selling a modest quantity at best. I miss the fast moving charts.
December 8, 200717 yr The reason bands like Hard-Fi, Kaiser Chiefs etc. are finding it harder to score a hit with their fanbase is because the physical single is dying. It's hard to pick it up at your local record stores now and unless you're a huge fan who collects all the stuff you don't go through the trouble on ordering it over the internet etc.
December 8, 200717 yr I think it would be great if the cut off point for the weekly singles chart was at 3am on a Thursday, with an unveiling on a Thursday evening. Also the Album chart perhaps could have a 3am cut off point on a Friday instead. Why push out both charts at the same time?
December 8, 200717 yr Because the physical single is dying I propose the following: Physical CD's cost more than a legal download of 79p. Therefore I think all £1.99 CD's should count as two unit sales; & £3.99 CD's should count as 3 unit sales. Likewise, a vinyl 7" sells for 99p it should count as 1 unit, if it is on sale for £1.99 it should count as 2 units.
