So hard to beleive this was that long ago!!!

1 - Robbie Williams and Nicole Kidman - SOMETHING STUPID

{1}-1-1-3-12-21-33-31-31-35-44-57

Really didn't like this.

02 - Daniel Bedingfield - GOTTA GET THRU THIS

{1}-1-2-3-2-1-3-6-13-11-13-22-27-39-45-55-54-54

Sounded okay at the time, now is rather boring.

03 - Sophie Ellis Bextor - MURDER ON THE DANCEFLOOR

{2}-3-4-4-2-7-11-16-16-16-21-25-36-48-60-61

Quite liked this back in the day, but wouldn't bother now.

04 - Stereophonics - HANDBAGS AND GLADRAGS

{4}-4-5-5-5-10-13-20-18-21-28-35-43-57-X-X-72

UGH!, what were they thinking?.

05 - Ian Van Dahl - WILL I?

{5}-7-6-7-14-20-28-29-28-41-53-59-74

Boring dance fodder

06 - Samantha Mumba - LATELY

{6}-8-8-6-15-18-26-28-30-44-64-61

Deary

07 - S Club 7 - HAVE YOU EVER

{1}-2-3-7-6-7-9-23-35-56-45-37-46-61

Typical teenybop-sugar-pop

08 - PPK - RESURECTION

{3}-6-8-12-11-11-19-25-34-32-32-43-60-62-71

Not bad for a dance song :).

09 - Tweenies - I BELIEVE IN CHRISTMAS

{9}-9-9-12-33-62

10 - Hermes House Band - COUNTRY ROADS

Same as above!

{7}-10-10-10-10-20-27-38-39-38-50-69

11 - Kate Winslet - WHAT IF

{6}-8-11-11-9-8-16-17-25-25-23-32-47-60

Not bad I guess, I remember Feeder were 11 copies or so away from her.

12 - Feeder - JUST A DAY EP

{12}-16-17-17-21-36-62

Most probably their best single, with "Shatter" in second and "Insomnia" in third. Had a hard time buying this, Woolworths had no stock, and had to go to Virgin on the bus in cold weather on the Saturday. Worked in a printers at the time.

13 - Janet Jackson featuring Carly Simon and Missy Elliott - SON OF A GUN (I BETCHA THINK THIS SONG IS ABOUT YOU)

No video on youtube

{13}-19-22-24-30-44-65-X-X-71-66

This is more Missy Elliot's song than Janet' despite the fact she's the first listed artist in the credits. Reminds me of that Dr Dre single which "featured" Slim Shady, even though he did most of the rapping.

14 - Steps - WORDS ARE NOT ENOUGH / I KNOW HIM SO WELL

Can't be asked to find the video, as the song is quite forgettable!

{5}-14-15-13-16-31-42-59-59-50-57

15 - Kosheen - CATCH

{15}-22-23-23-29-39-52-66

One of the better singles in this chart.

16 - Sum 41 - IN TOO DEEP

{13}-16-17-18-15-27-37-57-70-70-73

Quite liked this at the time, but is just boring today. Terrible live too.

17 - Riva featuring Dannii Minogue - WHO DO YOU LOVE NOW (STRINGER)

{3}-5-10-17-20-19-19-24-32-42-46-45-56-67-64

The chart weeks enabled Danni to break into the singles top 500 all-time ranking before Guninees went onto singles and albums combined. Not a bad song too.

18 - Cliff Richard - SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW / WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD (MEDLEY)

{11}-18-24-30-48-69

19 - Hear'Say - EVERYBODY

{4}-12-19-23-20-22-44-52-68-53-56

Boring I think, everytime I hear this I always keep thinking of their performance on the Royal Variety, in which some firework went off everytime the chorus was sung, for no apparent reason.

20 - Emma Bunton - WE'RE NOT GOING TO SLEEP TONIGHT

{20}-34-32-35-49

Definetly her worse single at the time, and the public agreed.

The midweeks for THE FOLLOWING WEEK WERE:- (including sales)

1. 50,528 Somethin' Stupid Robbie Williams/Nicole Kidman

2. 38,490 How Wonderful You Are Gordon Haskell

16. 6,971 Son Of A Gun (I Betcha Think This Song) Janet Jackson Ft Carly Simon

17. 6,932 Just A Day Ep Feeder (the Woolworths stocking problem was prolly one of the reasons why this shot up during the week)

18. 6,461 Because I Got High Afroman

19. 6,453 In Too Deep Sum 41

20. 6,371 Who Do You Love Now (Stringer) Riva Ft Dannii Minogue

I Loved Kate Winslet's What If. I would have loved that to be christmas #1
03 - Sophie Ellis Bextor - MURDER ON THE DANCEFLOOR

{2}-3-4-4-2-7-11-16-16-16-21-25-36-48-60-61

Quite liked this back in the day, but wouldn't bother now.

yeah used to love this but i dont bother when i play my cheesy compilation dvd, i always skip over to the passion fruit, atc, alcazar and right said fred, much better much more cheesy!!!!

04 - Stereophonics - HANDBAGS AND GLADRAGS

{4}-4-5-5-5-10-13-20-18-21-28-35-43-57-X-X-72

UGH!, what were they thinking?.

usual boring dadrock - only 1 record stand out from their 'cannon'.

16 - Sum 41 - IN TOO DEEP

{13}-16-17-18-15-27-37-57-70-70-73

Quite liked this at the time, but is just boring today. Terrible live too.

still a great pop single. that is a great pop single, nothing else

My favourite from there is Feeder- Just A Day. Brilliant track, still play it today.

But I also like the songs by Kate Winslet, S Club 7 (it is a decent pop song), PPK, Kosheen and, surprisingly, Dannii Minogue.

Worst for me are the songs by Hear'Say, Ian Van Dahl, Stereophonics, Steps, The Tweenies, that awful Hermes House Bands cover- and Cliff Richard. That medley of Somewhere Over The Rainbow and What A Wonderful World he did isn't even original itself. It's a cover of a much better version by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole that he did in 1993.

The rest are all quite average I think.

17. 6,932 Just A Day Ep Feeder (the Woolworths stocking problem was prolly one of the reasons why this shot up during the week)

A more likely reason is that the midweek chart posted is for the chart after the top 20 posted above (Feeder were #16 at the end of the week on this one).

Duly noted, thanks Paul! :D :).

"Just a Day" is a cult classic never to be forgotten, it was voted the 48th best single of all time by XFM listeners last year :D.

Murder On The Dancefloor was ROBBED of #1. :( What a great track that is.

Yes I agree!, I love this song, great vid as well.

lol...(it was groove)

I absolutely adore that Feeder track. Fantastic track and great video.

nice to hear someone say something nice about them! :D, epsecially after the sh*t I get from the Lilly Allen fan on another forum (even thought I was gullable and told me they were trying for xmas #1 with a track called "Eat My Face") and a Leona fan's gripe at them on Haven in July (before all the Leona craze started back up again). On both occasions I didn't even mention Feeder at all.

No need to stir here, please. Other people are entitled to not like Feeder and have another opinion you know :o

Yeah, but ripping on me for liking them just isn't on.

The Lilly Allen fan started on me on another forum for getting the name of the film wrong, that the Leon single originally appeared on, and I really laid into him.

pity someone DIDNT murder sophie... cant abide that 'alien cat' looking bint.

stereophonics dreary cover of 'handbags and gladrags' out drearied rod stewarts album cover version (the original chart hit was the superb cover by chris farlowe... mike d'arbo of manfred mann wrote it)

danii minogue was the big surprise there, with riva 'who do you love now' was brilliant!!!

Yeah, but ripping on me for liking them just isn't on.

fair enough, but have the same respect for acts and thier fans that are'nt to your personal taste, as you expect people to have for yours.

seems fair to me.
