Welcome all to the Multichart Year-End Top 100 :D

It's been a good year for the Multichart, with charts submitted almost doubling over the year, so i haven't based this chart on points, but on chart runs and also average points per charts submitted in a particular week. I've also given extra points for weeks spent in the chart, and weeks spent in the top 10. Oh and this is only based on the weekly top 40's, not the full 75 as is posted.

This will start soon :D

100. 671 Klaxons – Golden Skans (37-17-15-15-18-20-18-34) (8 weeks)

99. 676 Mika – Love Today (16-16-18-12-13-25-35-39) (8 weeks)

98. 677 Klaxons – It’s Not Over Yet (31-10-10-7-15-20-x-35) (7 weeks)

97. 694 Booty Luv – Boogie 2nite (8-9-14-16-19-28-24) (7 weeks)

96. 711 Booty Luv – Don’t Mess With My Man (23-18-13-6-8-18-30) (7 weeks)

We kick the top 100 off with 2 from Klaxons and Booty Luv, and also the first of 3 from Mika in the chart. Klaxons did incredibly well to get 2 songs in the chart, being an indie type band, but both songs fully deserve their position in the top 100. We already lose 2 of 3 Booty Luv songs in the chart, but Boogie 2nite did well to feature as it actually peaked at #5 in 2006 and was on the way down when 2007 arrived. And Mika, one of the big breakthroughs of 2007, followed up a #1 rather disappointingly with Love Today, which only peaked at #12, but it’s enough to make the countdown.

95. 729 Ciara – Like A Boy (40-30-28-21-19-9-8-22-36) (9 weeks)

94. 731 The Gossip – Standing In The Way Of Control (34-28-10-8-10-11-22) (7 weeks)

93. 762 Hilary Duff – With Love (24-32-9-10-10-16-19-30) (8 weeks)

92. 765 Girls Aloud – I Think We’re Alone Now (2-2-6-15-31-35-31) (7 weeks)

91. 768 Beyonce – Listen (20-14-9-10-13-12-26) (7 weeks)

Not much of note here, although like Booty Luv earlier on, Girls Aloud had already spent a chunk of time in the top 40 in 2006 with I Think We’re Alone Now, and once it got to 2007, it dropped rather suddenly after a couple of weeks at #2. The Gossip did well to feature, as they aren’t a traditional pop act.

Don't Mess With My Man and Boogie Tonight are the best of the first bunch for me. :D Like them pretty much equally.

Of the second lot I've now got round to loving Like A Boy. Though the rest are all a bit meh.

100-96 are rather Klaxons and Booty Luv heavy  Of course, I should expect most of the indie songs to be lower down :(

I actually quite like Booty Luv, was surprised they were low down, but then Boogie 2nite would have been top 50 at least if released in January, not late 2006.

 Well without giving much away, there's a close battle for indie song of the year ^_^

90. 772 Editors – Smokers Outside The Hospital Doors (33-19-17-11-12-17-19-22-33) (9 weeks)

89. 781 Dannii Minogue vs Jason Nevins – Touch Me Like That (33-32-16-15-13-12-16-24-26) (9 weeks)

88. 783 Calvin Harris – Acceptable In The 80s (37-17-4-6-7-17-21) (7 weeks)

87. 794 The View – Same Jeans (36-24-17-13-12-16-25-23-26-39) (10 weeks)

86. 809 Peter Bjorn & John feat. Victoria Bergsman – Young Folks (22-14-8-7-9-18-21-33) (8 weeks)

A real mix here, which also sees our first current top 40 hit in the countdown, in the shape of Dannii Minogue vs Jason Nevins. It only peaked at #12, but the 9 weeks spent in the chart carries it to #89. Calvin Harris is at #88 with Acceptable In The 80s, although this seems to be the only single people really got into from him this year, as none others made the list, with only 1 other even making the top 40. The other 3 come from the Alt/Indie genre, including the re-release of Young Folks by Peter Bjorn & John.

So many songs that did well on my chart - Calvin Harris and Peter Bjorn and John are not doing well here :o

I bet the indie song of the year is Arctic Monkeys - FA ^_^

 Well there was 322 top 40 hits this year in the Multichart, so these have done alright :P

A good mix there, realy like The View, Calvin Harris and Editors. ^_^

I like them all aswell, but quite rightly so this was the only Calvin Harris song that got close to the top 100. All his others were atrocious imo :P

85. 810 Sophie Ellis Bextor – Today The Sun’s On Us (27-15-13-7-12-14-21-26) (8 weeks)

84. 811 Amerie – Gotta Work (18-13-12-9-8-10-23) (7 weeks)

83. 835 Pink – Leave Me Alone (I’m Lonely) (38-22-18-15-18-14-12-19-30-35) (10 weeks)

82. 839 All Saints – Chick Fit (33-12-10-10-17-16-16-24-36) (9 weeks)

81. 844 Manic Street Preachers feat. Nina Persson – Your Love Alone Is Not Enough (40-27-16-10-10-11-10-21-27) (9 weeks)

4 more female pop songs here, the highlight being Sophie Ellis Bextor with Today The Sun’s On Us, which peaked at #7 to follow on from the #2 she reached with Catch You and the #6 of Me & My Imagination. This group is rounded off nicely by the Manic Street Preachers, with their comeback single Your Love Alone Is Not Enough.

80. 845 My Chemical Romance – Teenagers (35-24-18-15-11-8-21-26-30-32) (10 weeks)

79. 856 Cascada – What Hurts The Most (38-21-14-10-6-4-4) (7 weeks)

78. 876 Bloc Party – Flux (27-17-18-18-16-16-13-18-27-29) (10 weeks)

77. 894 Justin Timberlake feat. Timbaland – What Goes Around….Comes Around (27-32-37-19-14-16-16-18-19-25-27) (11 weeks)

76. 911 Gym Class Heroes – Cupid’s Chokehold (26-11-11-12-14-19-15-28-33-40-32) (11 weeks)

Another relative mixed bag here, started off by emo “gods” My Chemical Romance, who did very well to go top 10 with Teenagers. We then have 2 more current top 40 hits from Cascada and Bloc Party. Both songs are great in their own rights, and fully deserve their places in the top 100, although What Hurts The Most would more than likely be higher if it was released earlier.
