January 2, 200817 yr I think there is already a post on this. But anyway I think Sophie Ellis-Bextor song with the Freemasons will be big this year!
January 2, 200817 yr Anastacia: 3,000,000 Nah, she's always managed 5 million in Europe with each studio album, so I think 3m is a bit low. :P
January 2, 200817 yr Oh and for anyone who thinks Madonna will have a massive year, She's collaborating with Timbaland & Justin Timberlake right? Ok, but do you honestly think that will help boost sales? Most people who I know (that listen to Timbaland & JT) would NEVER buy a Madonna Single/Album or even have her on their phones. So it's not going to help her.

So it's not going to help her. Well the last two times Timbaland & JT were on the same track it was Give It To Me and Ayo Technology and in my opinion they were :puke2: , although many here liked Give It To Me
January 2, 200817 yr Oasis, Coldplay and Madonna are gonna be big this year! Mariah as usual, will fair better in America but not the rest of the world. I don't understand why some people in here think Madonna will flop! Ok so she's selling out by working with Justin and Timbers but shes Madonna...she's gonna be massive regardless! Confessions was a huge success, she stole the show at Live Earth last summer, people love her and her new album is the most anticipated in the media!! So Lola and the 'people u know' will surely be eating you words this year...mark my words sweetheart!!!
January 2, 200817 yr ^Allow people to have an oppinion without being patronising, the only reason i think Madonna would flop is because it will end up sounding like everything else out at the moment.

Dont patronize me by calling me sweetheart you prune. :manson: By working with Justin Timberlake & Timbaland, she's hoping to go down the young rnb fanbase route. What person who are big fans of Justin Timberlake/Timbalad/ and artists like that would listen to Madonna? She should stick to what she was good at, pop.
January 2, 200817 yr I think Madonna is making a poor move by trying to appeal to an audience that probably aren't going to be impressed by her. I really liked her last album but I seriously doubt I will be purchasing this one. Dido will probably postpone her album again for a few more years. Is Whitney supposed to be making her comeback this year? Edited January 2, 200817 yr by Esmerelda
January 3, 200817 yr Why should age always be an issue huh? If the song is good, people will buy it regardless of how many years Madonna's been on earth! And when Hung Up came out, Madonna once again appealed to a much younger audience, people liked the song and bought it. I recall listening to a radio one interview and a teenager said that she loved the new single (Hung UP) and that she had never bought any Madonna-related dics before uptil now. So Timberland/Timberlake fans who have never bought Madonna's music before and are impressed by her upcoming efforts will no doubt be buying the album. In addition, the new album isn't fully rn'b, its still pop with elements of rn'b. Madonna, Timberlake and Timberland were heavily influenced by some of Madonna's earlier 'pop' albums! So maybe u should do a bit of research and drop the ageist comments? They become ever so tiresome....sweetheart! :) And Esmerelda...how can u be so sure that you 'certainly' won't be buying the new album when you've not even heard a single track? Bit lame init! Edited January 3, 200817 yr by Madonna's Guy!
January 3, 200817 yr And Esmerelda...how can u be so sure that you 'certainly' won't be buying the new album when you've not even heard a single track? Bit lame init! I didn't say I certainly wouldn't buy it I said I seriously doubt I would :P I'm not a massive fan of Timbaland's work but hopefully I will be proved wrong.
January 3, 200817 yr I don't want Madonna to go down the R&B route, I hope she uses Timbaland to create something different a bit like Bjork did. Confessions was amazing but I'm kind of dreading her new album if I'm honest. And I sincerely hope The Kooks flop, quite possibly the worst and most unoriginal band to emerge in years.

Confessions was amazing but I'm kind of dreading her new album if I'm honest. And I sincerely hope The Kooks flop, quite possibly the worst and most unoriginal band to emerge in years. I doubt it. I was reading up on the new Madonna album and it's a Timbaland/Timberlake orgy. Complete with Pharrell and Akon. She's trying to do a Mariah Carey whereas I think Mariah pulls off the whole RNB sound - Madonna doesn't have a hope in hell's chance. 'American Life ' and that awful rap anybody? :manson: I love Madonna but I can tell this album is going to stink.

She's trying to go down a route to attract a new audience of fans, which won't give a dam about her. She's been going downhill for years. I mean, can't she create any original material? "Queen Of Pop", yeah, someone who has to rely on re-working old Abba hits and then trying to get into the RnB/Hip Hop mainstream.

But can you really say any of this until you actually here the album/single? I liked "Hung Up" and I bought "Confessions.." too. Admittedly I wasn't keen on the album at all but still it shows that Madonna can appeal to a young audience given the right material. I see no reason why she'll flop if the lead single is strong enough. Admittedly as far as image is concerned she's not the leader she once was rather the bandwagon jumper but still there's a difference between image and music...
January 3, 200817 yr It will be interesting to see how Will Young fairs on the comeback trail. He won't have Xmas sales to help him out for his sake I hope he makes full use of Mother's Day because he will need it. You really do need to seek professional help love...your obsession with Will Young is becoming quite scary

Mariah, however, had the perfect voice for it and thats we she pulled it off.
