January 2, 200818 yr Author Cheers Mykka! For a station that builds itself as entirely innovative, Radio 1 certainly has become very formulaic imo. The entire playlist is dominated by Male Indie bands/female RnB/Cheesy dance-pop. They seem to have no room for anything thats genuinely new and continue to playlist certain bands to A-list for life. Having The Pigeon Detectives A-listed for 9 weeks with a song that missed the Top 40 is just horrific. Make way for something better! The Mary J. track is not only a late (and now a pointless) playlist but it's a rubbish track that'll flop here for sure. This playlist needs some new blood... Though kudos to them for playlisting Mark Brown // Sarah Cracknell - "The Journey Continues". It's going to be hugeeee...
January 2, 200818 yr The best week for new additions to the playlist in YONKS! YAY for Kylie, Mary and Goldfrapp.
January 2, 200818 yr Oh and only 7 new additions is terrible. There was a time that every week we'd get 9-13 new additions every week. Comments on the new additions: Biffy Clyro - not interested Mary J Blige - it's a mediocre track by her standards Goldfrapp - not what I expected, its quite good, but nothing new Kylie - I love Wow, so its imo the best new addition Out Of Office - from what I heard, I like it, but it will flop unlike Basshunters... Simple Plan - not heard, but they didnt use to support them I think

This isn't the first time, remember when they A-listed that Razorlight song that didn't make the top 40 for quite a few weeks?. Edited January 2, 200818 yr by Marcus
January 2, 200818 yr This isn't the first time, remember when they A-listed that Razorlight song that didn't make the top 40 for quite a few weeks?. Let's not forget Fallout Boy, Kaiser Chiefs and Fratellis latest flops. But they've always had some of these from time to time. Anyone remember Red Hot Chili Peppers - Fortune Faded and Jay-Z - Change Clothes? Both flopped and spent like 6 weeks in the A-list after they flopped
January 2, 200818 yr That A List is a complete joke. Most of the singles on it have FLOPPED, why are they still there? They need to get Britney and Rihanna off B-List and onto A-List immediately. -_-

January 2, 200818 yr SUPERGRASS?!!! :D :D :D It is a fantastic track, Mark Radcliffe & Stuart Maconie were playing it on their shows the week before Christmas and have clearly helped persuade Radio 2's playlist committee to start 2008 off with a blinding good start, with a dirty rock & roll track better than ANY of the indie/alternative/rock tracks on Radio 1's playlist. Supergrass Myspace page
January 2, 200818 yr But they've always had some of these from time to time. Anyone remember Red Hot Chili Peppers - Fortune Faded and Jay-Z - Change Clothes? Both flopped and spent like 6 weeks in the A-list after they flopped As I said the other day, there was a Joss Stone song that barely scaped the Top 20 (it might have made lower) that they were playing long after anyone interested in had brought it. (People obviously didn't buy it then, so why would they several weeks later?) Makes me miss the days when I was on student radio. :(
January 2, 200818 yr They've some real deadwood that needs clearing up on their playlist, but to be fair to them there's not a great deal of new stuff out at the moment that fits their overall style. Is stupid Pigeon Detectives are still A-listed though!
