Posted January 12, 200817 yr Okay this obviously isn't my week, but I don't think this has anything to do with cache  Okay so I begun the Book Comp again and I wanted to edit my other thread's post to copy the text (Yes! I know I could have just highlighted it, but i wanted all the sizes, bolds and italics etc:) Anyway I went to click edit and it said "Sorry. You do not have permission to edit this post" When it was my own thread   I Print Scrnd my process: http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q299/matt1291/waah.jpg Help!
January 12, 200817 yr Matt I have looked into this and there is no reason why you shoudnt be able to edit your post. Maybe you have an issue right now with your browser? I even tested it with our member test account and everything is fine.
January 12, 200817 yr Matt is javascript allowed on your Explorer session? In your print screen, bottom right, before the word 'internet' you have some symbol with a red 'x' or red '!' over it. Don't know what that is off hand, but perhaps some security is at work?
January 13, 200817 yr Author Yep! Javascript is allowed and that "Red X" it is an eye with a ban symbol on it. This is Privacy or something when I move my mouse over it it has always been there and hasn't affected me editing posts before, it has just started recently, Friday actually
January 14, 200817 yr Author I'll test it on this one... EDIT: Oh it works! I suppose it is a good thing that it does, but I wonder why it did it for that post/thread, am I just lucky with this one? or will it happen in the future  Edited January 14, 200817 yr by Matt.
January 14, 200817 yr can you edit the other post now? Also try editting your first post in this topic and let me know. it might be that you are not able to edit topics..
January 14, 200817 yr Author Aaaaaaaaaa No I cannot edit my topic posts, and no I cannot edit that topic in the Book Corner either :| I wonder what the problem is, it isn't something annoying, but sometimes it's handy to have
January 14, 200817 yr unsure right now once I have sorted out a few group changes I will review! In the mean time to get the formatting you can quote the post :).
January 14, 200817 yr Those threads are locked though, aren't they? Just had a look in the Book Corner.
January 14, 200817 yr thanks Flatcap :D I was looking at the top book corner post not the ones at the bottom. Matt - your not able to edit locked posts.
January 14, 200817 yr Matt what is it you need edited in the Book Corner? Nightcrawler or myself are more then happy to do it for you or unlock topics if you need it done.
January 15, 200817 yr Author Matt what is it you need edited in the Book Corner? Nightcrawler or myself are more then happy to do it for you or unlock topics if you need it done. It wasn't that I wanted to unlock the topic, because it is fine closed, I just wanted to copy all the bols, underlines, emotions, sizes etc: and merly copy and pasting the text wouldn't have done that. Also, it seemed to much hassle for you to unlock the post, let me copy it and then close it again! Oh and Phil, why is that I cannot edit this topic then  Because even if the reason is that I can't edit locked topics, why couldn't I edit this topic either
January 16, 200817 yr Author Nevermind :D It's all fixed now :) But is it normal for me to not be able to edit topics that are closed  If so okay!
