Melanie has reached out to two fans who have been going through a cancer battle over the last year for a chat. I have been in touch with them previously and know just how much it has boosted them. Thankfully (after having half his stomach removed) it looks like they are out of the woods but what a wonderful thing for Mel to do. Beautiful. In the last couple of years, she has lost some friends / relatives because of cancer - I remember reading it somewhere. I guess it’s something that - unfortunately - many people deal with, regardless of their social status.

She is so special i am so happy she did that.

 

Now that arrangement of 2B1 was not the best !

Loved this. Wow - why Melanie doesn’t write a book. I’d buy it for sure.

Really interesting read. I thought I knew about Virgin being funny about when you're gone I am sure that Bryan himself spoke out once in an interview and said how Virgin did everything they could to make it not happen and were really awkward with his record label. I am sure Mel B said the same about I want you back too in one of her autobiographies???

Lovely interview. I'm so glad 2019 happened because she really needed to realise that her as a solo artist and Sporty Spice weren't 2 separate things but both her. It has made her much more enjoyable both as a Spice Girl as she embraces it more but also as a solo artist. Serious artist Melanie C who was wearing black dresses and high heels to tour and everything was so serious was a chore. 2019-2021 she has been so much more fun, engaging, interesting even if the music isn't always to my taste at least her artitude and sense of fun is these days.

Totally agree. It seems like she has finally found her groove after all these years. Her music and overall aesthetics from Reason onwards were so bland and meandering, it was so boring and didnt really ring true.

That was a GREAT interview! A little Spice heavy but understandable as that is her main thing obviously, however they did delve into other areas which was good to see. Also subtitled so I got to understand it all yay!

GREAT that she is so open about the fact that they do talk about new music! That's good to know!!

 

It's the most explicit and open she has talked about that and it gave me a bit of hope that it might happen eventually... Hope that the new year, with the new incentives with the tour, the Spiceworld 25 celebrations, etc, it could happen to them.

I'd like to see them do an original Christmas single, like Kylie's 'Everyday feels like Christmas'. Those tend to be seen as a novelty anyway. So they wouldn't need to worry about legacy. And as a Christmas song, they'd have a good reason not to perform it again if it wasn't well received.
