Melanie C continues to be a true ally to the LGBTQ+ community. She just pulled out of performing for a TV show in Poland after learning about their promotion of anti-lgbtq and outright homophobia. Her statement on Facebook says:

In light of some issues that have been brought to my attention, that do not align with the communities I support, I’m afraid I will no longer be able to perform in Poland as planned on New Year’s Eve.

I hope to be back there very soon.

Hope you’re all having a wonderful Christmas and best wishes for 2023.

No girl is ever topping her as my favourite Spice Girl now (not that they ever would anyway lol). Utterly adore her!

Good move! Im really glad she listens, she always does

Major respect for her decision to remove herself from this. I love how much Melanie C actively cares about the LGBTQ+ community. Between this, and all of the efforts Mel B has taken to promote awareness of domestic violence, these two really carry that SG torch for encouraging "people power".

Quite a lot of the replies, many from Polish Twitter users, are not impressed with her. I suppose statements like this will always have a mixed response… but a lot of the responses are throwing evidence of her performing in Russia & Dubai as recently as 2018. So the tweet is proving to be pretty controversial, as much as there are also many who are expressing their thankfulness to her.

Personally I absolutely respect & support her stance on this one. She’s going to have to be very consistent and meticulous with her booking choices from now on so she doesn’t seem hypocritical at any point in the future though.

I don't think performing in *Poland* is the issue here, but performing at that particular *tv show*. She'll have to be careful in the future to look at who is planning events though - not sure what events she performed at in Dubai or Russia or if they were associated with their respective governments.
What Tommie said, it was not Poland the country but the actually TV channel who has promoted anti-lgbtq stuff that was the problem. If she is going by country then she is pretty limited.

This is right! In her statement she even mentions performing in Poland again in the future.

Sure, she doesn't have the cleanest track record either (she performing for the Borbachev anniversary was sickening) but at least she is learning!

He is doing covers from Elton John to (lots of) Queen to Stevie Wonder to Taylor Swift. Melanie came on and did when you're gone with him.
He is great, wouldn't go as far as that though James!

I saw Adam Lambert with Queen in June and it was… underwhelming for sure.

Oh wow you must have got a bad concert, or he must have got worse with age! I saw him about 5 years ago with them and he was amazing, one of the best concerts I have ever attended. On the way out my dad said "that is the second best concert I've ever seen in my life and it's second only to Queen with Freddie"

I agree with that! I saw them then too and he was great!

Didn’t rate him at the jubilee gig either
