It's not a rumor. She WILL perform at the finals. It is 100% confirmed. B-)

Mel will sing 2 Become 1:

 

All 15 of the show’s season 30 celebrities will return to the ballroom to dance an opening number all together, performing to the hit song “Dynamite” by BTS, and choreographed by two-time Emmy® Award-winning choreographer Tessandra Chavez. Season 30 pro dancers will come together to perform a dance to “Pour Some Sugar On Me” by Def Leppard. In addition, the finale will feature special performances by Melanie C who will return to sing “2 Become 1” by the Spice Girls, and recent CMA Award winner Jimmie Allen will also perform his single “Good Times Roll.”
I’m looking forward to that! Great that she’ll get to perform on US. Hopefully it’ll result in a few album sales.
Annoying she can't sing one of her own songs, I get that they are unknown over there but would have been great for a bit of exposure. I'm never massively keen on the girls doing the songs on their own, part of what makes the songs sound so great is the harmonies.

always best to have the group doing group songs I guess, but Emma did a great rendition of 2 Become 1 and Mel has done Too Much really well too, so it is not always terrible (looking at you Gerita!)

I agree that the group songs always sound best performed as a group but she was booked as a Spice Girl not as a solo artist or celebrity.

The Spice Girls songs are group songs and work best as a group. Can Melanie C and Emma sing them by themselves? Yes. Melanie C made me fall in love again with Too Much (I listen to her versions a lot), Emma did great with 2 Become 1.

 

Honestly, I don’t see Geri, Mel B, and Vicky “Mommi was a Popstar” B being able to do the same. As Mr.X said, I still have nightmares when I think of Geri’s abuse of vocal fry in Wannabe (acoustic) - it’s so bad that I could listen to Stages instead.
