Love the trousers not so sure about the bra top thing but she is certainly rocking it.

 

Ps Geri's Wannabe is probably my favourite of any solo Spice cover of a spice girls song and its 1000x better than that terrible emma and robbie duet!

Because you’re a Buntoner. As a C-er, I love Emma’s rendition, but I find Melanie acoustic versions way more interesting. Emma delivers vocally in a way that the other girls don’t, reads “she’s basically like the record”, while Melanie is not perfect but she knows how to inhabit a song and make it hers.

 

I think - if Melanie ever takes into consideration an acoustic album - she should consider at least a duet with Emma to balance these two souls.

By the way, do we know more about DWTS performance? It’s probably pre-rec, I don’t think that show has singers with live vocals / bands. I wonder if they tried to get all 4 girls to perform there.

She posted a story with Diplo. The songwriter and producer of the last songs she recorded are part of Diplo’s team. Fingers crossed it’s gonna be something cool.

I agree that Geri’s solo Wannabe wasn’t the best. The aforementioned vocal fry being used quite a few times throughout the performance was a really misused technique. Used sparingly it’s effective, but she went completely overboard and just sounded horrible in the process.

 

(Obviously talking about this in Melanie C’s thread is off topic) I’m looking forward to seeing what Melanie C’s solo arrangement of 2 Become 1 will be. I have a feeling that instrumentally she’ll keep it close to the group song version. This isn’t the occasion for a subtle acoustic version of it! I think one thing is guaranteed, it’ll be better than Bunton’s album recording :arrr:

Such a pity that album version, because Emma’s live version was amazing. I can’t stand Robbie’s voice.

 

As for Melanie, yes, I hope they’re going to keep it closer to the original - the orchestral edit is great too. And I want her to glow, please let it be a great gown, beautiful gown.

When I was mentioning Emma, I was refering to the live version not that horrid duet with that anti-vaxxer :blink:

 

I think her live version and Melanie's live version of Too Much are the standard for solo covers of the group's songs!
