I thought all the acts murdered the Liverpool Songbook songs lol! ITTY was perhaps the least offensive... I can't get over a Liverpool songbook with no Beatles song in it, and Imagine doesn't count! Also no Frankie Goes to Hollywood or Cilla Black?

What did the non-Geri songstress think of it though?

She was also trending on Twitter:

Cornelia's rendition is now available on all digital (download & streaming) services:

Melanie with Natalie Imbruglia. Are they recording together? :o

With them is Phil Thornalley, the co-writer of Torn, who has worked with both Natalie and Melanie in the past.

Fast forward one year, and guess what? Their collaboration, which is called All Summer Long, has recently been registered on a publishing website.

I wonder if they plan to release it this Summer. :o

Exciting! :o

Love Natalie. But this is scary. I hope this is not a pop rock song.

I’d rather padam padam than counting down the days.

This was exactly my thinking. Mel made a good step forward in direction with the last album, I might be completely wrong but I cant imagine a duet between them being anything bar a step back to adult contempory or middle of the road stuff. Will happily be proved wrong though.

If they did get the song right it might be the sort of thing BBC radio 2 eat up and the gays go for which would be good for Mel.

Of course, back then, Natalie’s music was cool. But imagine if we’re getting a Shiver pt. 2 feat. Melanie OMG

I don’t see Natalie recording anything with synths and uptempo percussions.

I mean I would adore a Shiver part 2 that is such an EPIC song

It's clearly a side project thing, and Melanie has never stuck to just one musical style, she has already confirmed the next album is to be electro pop again so I wouldn't worry about that. Unless this smashes which causes her to change direction... but let's be honest, it won't even chart.

But let's be honest, it won't even chart.

Let's be honest, if Kylie can get a Padam Padam moment at 55 years old, then so can Melanie at 49 years old.

Let's be realistic Kylie is on a whole other level to Melanie, she sells out arenas and her albums chart at #1...

This is irrelevant to her getting a hit. She's had countless singles that didn't chart or charted low. All it took was the right song at the right time.

When Melanie & Matt announced the release of Loving You nobody expected them to get a hit, but they did.

Never say never.

Lots of people on Twitter complimenting Melanie C re: her appearance at Soccer Aid! Obviously superficial but it's always nice to see any positivity for them when it can often be so negative.
