The "Hail Mary" download campaign has recieved a mention in todays national newspaper the Daily Star (Page 18 ) :yahoo:

A group of Mark Owen fans are launching a campaign to get his solo single Hail Mary into the Top.40 this week.

The download plan has been designed as the appreciators of the Take That singer,35, feel his own efforts outside the manband were overlooked.

They said "We feel Mark Owen didn't get the recognition he deserved for his solo work. He's a very talented songwriter and a great performer".

Personally I always wanted Markie to release a string-laden belter of a tune called Close To The Edge from his second solo album, Seek that out too pop pickers.

:D !!And lets not forget the Daily Star has over 100,000 readers a day!!!!

No I don't think it will work...

Mark had two GREAT solo singles in my eyes; Clementine and Four Minute Warning...the rest were average

I don't think either it will work. There were so many attempts in the past (Spice Girls - Stop, Dire Straits as far as I know etc.) Neither of them worked.
Why chose one of his crappest songs... if there is gonna be a campaign why cant it be something on one of his hits that half decent

Why are they trying to get a pretty poor song from Mark imo, into the chart? surely they should be more than satisfied that he sang lead vocal on such a big hit as Shine?
I think the most successful one of these campaigns so far was "Honey To The B" By Billie wasn't it?
Four Minute Warning is his only good song.
