Posted February 10, 200817 yr I know the record has been number one for over 4 weeks now but isnt it one of the lowest sales in total for a record to spend that long at no1?
February 10, 200817 yr I think Rihanna - Umbrella sold about the same amount if not less after 4 weeks tho i'm not sure.
February 10, 200817 yr There is a pinned topic, on how much Basshunter has sold all together so far... "Week by Week Sales"
February 10, 200817 yr I know the record has been number one for over 4 weeks now but isnt it one of the lowest sales in total for a record to spend that long at no1? For its 4 weeks at no.1 its average is about 40k, which i think is pretty good. Last year the first 4 weeks of umbrella sold 34, 38, 60 and 48k, which is probably a bit higher than Basshunter but if you compare the average over 10 weeks it is probably around 33k.
February 10, 200817 yr You have got to remember that Basshunter has sold in January were sales for No.1's were in the 20,000s the past few years, it's done really well imo!
February 10, 200817 yr I know the record has been number one for over 4 weeks now but isnt it one of the lowest sales in total for a record to spend that long at no1? Sean Kingston sold less in his 4 weeks at No1 155k compared to Basshunter’s 165k. I'd be surprised if Now You're Gone's final cume was less than that of Beautiful Girls. Interestingly Shakira's Hips Don't Lie only sold ~120k in it's 4 week spell at No1 but 16 weeks in the top10 somewhat helped it to sell over 500k at the last count.
February 10, 200817 yr i think its Eric Prydz with the lowest ever number one sales for one week, and Busted "Whos David" is 2nd to lowest. Umbrella did pretty well, sold near to 500,000 copies, and has only just left the top 40 - yet to leave the top 50
February 10, 200817 yr I thought Orson's 'No Tomorrow' had the worst week sales for a #1? 17k or something like that :o
February 10, 200817 yr I thought Orson's 'No Tomorrow' had the worst week sales for a #1? 17k or something like that :o it did but overall it sold 230k-so not the lowest overall ever but, unfortunately, they'll always have that 1 week record. Shame, its better than most number 1s.

February 10, 200817 yr Orson have the worst and I think Prydz is 2nd + 3rd and also Daniel Bedingfield as well. He went back to #1 after Christmas one year with 'If You're Not The One'? Or his other song the garage sounding one. I forget what it was called. :( Also Ja Rule + Ashanti's hideous 'Wonderful' from 2004 and the Elvis #1s were pretty low too for a #1 sale.
February 10, 200817 yr I'm surprised the song is doing so well..it doesn't have much substance. Well, a matter of opinion. I really like it, not as good as the original Swedish Boten Anna but still very catchy. I have actually seen the list for the lowest no 1s in the UK in some website but cannot remember which one it was. But, like stated above, No Tomorrow has the lowest tally for no 1 in a single week. For more than a decade the top two were Bring Your Daughter To Slaughter by Iron Maiden and Hangin' Tough by New Kids On The Block but that has changed during the past five years with songs like No Tomorrow, Wonderful, Call On Me, Elvis re-issues, Umbrella and so on

That $h!t Daniel Bedingfield song that returned to #1 kept my Sophie off the top with 'Murder On The Dancefloor' on two seperate occasions. :(
February 11, 200817 yr Gotta Get Thru This! I used to think he was a woman when I saw that song. :/ Poor old SEB :(
February 11, 200817 yr Author I'm surprised the song is doing so well..it doesn't have much substance. I agree..I think its a pile of c**p personally.
