Commentary

Firstly, this is my 104th chart – which means that Jesters Top Tunes are 2 years old! :magic:

Clocking up her third week at the top, Duffy becomes my longest running #1 of the year so far – and looks set to extend her lead over the coming weeks. Hot on the heels of the album of the year (so far) Goldfrapp return to #2 with the beautiful classic A&E – this is an unlucky song on my chart as it was well deserved of #1 status, but I foolishly put Mark Brown at #1 instead a few weeks ago. Of the benefit of hindsight! :drama: Kylie quite rightly sticks at 3 this week as do MGMT at 4. Rounding off the top 5 is a yo-yoing track from MIA – Paper Planes has had its release date moved again to the end of March and is trying my patience a bit. It currently equals the peak of Jimmy and I may yet have to let it peak either this week or next week.

Another song that is just off its future peak is Alphabeat’s Fascination at 6 – this 80s flavoured gem should find itself in the top 5 in seven days time :D H20 drop to 7 this week, just ahead of two top 10 debuts in the shape of Stop and Stare from One Republic and Can’t Speak French from Girls Aloud (Mon dieu!). Both these songs should be on the up again next week and I can see Hot Chip, now at 10, dropping out of the top 10 :o Many changes on the way!

This weeks two new entries come from Gnarls Barkley (18) and Timbaland, Keri Hilson and Nicole Scherzinger (25).
