March 14, 200818 yr Yeah! I think people just need her to get used to all this first! Then i think she will start inputting her own lyrics and styles into songs for her next few albums!
March 14, 200818 yr i reckon leona will be #1 both artists are sh*t BTW she has been outselling duffy all through the week and she is around 3.8k behind. still friday and saturday sales to be added. she will overtake with her saturday sales .
March 14, 200818 yr I agree that sadly Leona will now nick the #1 spot on Sunday with her blandfest of an excuse for a "Chariddee" single. What a shame that Bleeding Love appears to have been a one off fluke with regards a good tune. I find this a quite incredulous statement TIP. I agree that FITS is not the most commercial single, but I think that BIT is a strong follow-up to BL. It has after all currently hit radio in a big way - its #4 on radio following a 186-27-19-7-4 climb and I believe it will chart in the top 3 this week. Furthermore, if you have heard the rest of her album I would be astonished if you didn't regard Take A Bow as a follow-up single that has potential world-wide smash written across it in the same vein that Bleeding Love does. Other than this, Leona's album is full of a number of good singles, however, more importantly, I think having 2 world-wide smash singles in an album really stands out and is consistent (if not better) than the best in today's marketplace. I agree. It has been nearly 18 months since she was on X Factor, and I've yet to see any artistic development from her. Personally, she replaced Will Young as the Best British Pop Talent show star of the 21st Century due to her performances on XF3. But her album was a bitter disappointment as (excluding Bleeding Love) it is blandness personified (both Mariah Carey's & Whitney Houston's debut albums were far far better), and in stark contrast to Will Young she does not seem to have an individualism or personality needed to give her a successful long term career in the music industry as she still comes across as Simon Cowell's puppet like Gareth Gates did when Simon Cowell when spending more money on videos and promotion for the runner up of Pop Idol (and look what happened to his career) in comparison to Will Young. I agree that she displaced Will Young as the best talent the UK has discovered from a talent show, by some margin (and I do think Will Young had a substantial talent). Leona may not have shown the artistic development that you may have expected following the X Factor, but this has probably, as you say, been compromised by her management influence. To say that this is due to Simon Cowell is perhaps a slight exaggeration, I believe Cowell has had an influence but I believe said influence has been diminished due to the signing of the U.S. deal. I don't know which aspects of Whitney's and Mariah's debut albums you consider are far far better than Leona's album - I would consider them on a par. What needs to be borne in mind is that Leona is a developing artist - she may not have had a substantial amount of input into her debut album, but I don't think this should be frowned upon. What she needed to do with her first album is attempt to cement a world-wide chart position and this is paramount. What will develop from this is Leona having more artistic creation over what her music becomes and sounds in album #2.

In addition to this, do you think Leon Jackson will have a big comeback in the autumn, like Leona did. My answer to this will be a fat NO  And the winner of the next X Factor will be LEO  Leona, Leon, Leo -_- get the picture ;)
March 14, 200818 yr I agree that she displaced Will Young as the best talent the UK has discovered from a talent show, by some margin (and I do think Will Young had a substantial talent). That's subjective. Personally for me there is nothing unique about Leona. Will she still be racking up nigh on a million sales (with more creative input with her third album) only time will tell.

They have in their 2nd/3rd/4th or how ever many after but their debut album is MAINLY down to management! And theyre doing like you said, they are trying to cement her way into the world first and then let her have any input into it! and it was shown (even though its only the b side to her Double A Side) that more of Leonas input is starting to be taken into account! You Bring Me Down - Which is Brilliant IMO - Was co written by Leona herself... yes CO written only but at least its one step further!

Get your facts straight Will Young has 5 writing credits on his debut album far more than Leona.

March 15, 200818 yr I actually think Leon will do very well and will surprise quite a few people, if he releases near Christmas he'll sell loads, as he'll be bought for pressies etc. Oh i hope not! His voice is really horrible and irritating! *shivers* lol
March 15, 200818 yr Oh i hope not! His voice is really horrible and irritating! *shivers* lol I agree! but there's a lot of girlie fans out there for him, he's like a baby Buble.
March 15, 200818 yr I agree! but there's a lot of girlie fans out there for him, he's like a baby Buble. In that sense yes... but I only see Buble as an album seller and only does extraordinarily well on Mothers Day, Valentines Day & like you said the Christmas period - but i cant see Leon selling any more singles unless promoted on a show!

Well won't he be on this years x-factor like leona was?
March 15, 200818 yr Well won't he be on this years x-factor like leona was? More than likely, although Shayne was also on last year and Breathless (the single) peaked at Number 6! But it will help his album out more than the single! But i suppose Shayne was 2 years old when they performed this year... so i dunno! Edited March 15, 200818 yr by Johnjo07
March 15, 200818 yr Hope leona doing well Because you can see it wikipedia that leona is the 1st winner of a major television talent show in the UK or U.S. to be given a major global launch with the release of their debut album. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leona_Lewis
