May 19, 200817 yr Yes I know we all know that he doesn't make the decisions and your sarcasm doesn't go unnoticed Creme Egg! I just don't understand Sugar categorically denying that the decisions had been made when asked by JR on his show. Because the only way Sugar could get out of this with an ounce of credibility is by saying that the makers were behind the disastrous decisions and not he himself. If these decisions are truly his then it must be bloody easy to get a job in Sugar's company. Norma I'm really sorry if I offended you but I wasn't being sarcastic...I actually hadn't ever thought of that! Maybe it's just my small brain :P

Maybe it's just my small brain :P I'm sorry Creme Egg - as soon as I posted I thought I was being a bit defensive and more than a little tetchy! A bit like S'rallan can be!  Norma
May 19, 200817 yr I was sad to see Sara go. I thought she was very sensible and very capable (Siralan curiously forgot she won her week as PM). Plus I thought that other people took advantage of her timidness. My list: 1 Lucinda 2 Raef (HUGE gap) 3 Lee 4 Claire 5 Alex 6 Helene 7 Michael
May 19, 200817 yr Whilst The Apprentice is obviously set up, I wouldn't say Dragon's Den was any more credible. It's just as false, and it's not like the Dragons' comments are remotely useful for the most part and are said with malice just to make 'good telly' as much as Siralan's are. They're not poles apart IMO. However, I don't know that it's true both finalists work for 6 months. I know that the piano recital week with Myleene was filmed in November, so at most the final will be filmed mid-December (presumably they finish filming before the 3rd week for the Christmas weekend), so the most they've been working there is since the New Year presumably.

Oh come on, some of these people who turn up on DD are clueless fukkwits in need of a serious reality check.... Which is what they most certainly get.... At least the Dragons actually seriously interrogate their business plans and models, and really have a go at the finances as well... No, I disagree, DD has a lot more cred than Surallan does IMO, at least they actually don't waste their time with clueless tw@ts (the likes of Micheal and Claire just would NOT last two minutes under the sort of serious grilling they'd get under Peter Jones or Duncan Bannatyne) just because they're telegenic or make "good telly"... Of course, the situation is contrived, but I think they prospective entrepreneurs would still get the same sort of interrogation, scrutiny and criticism (maybe not quite as vicious, but certainly as intensive) off camera as on...
May 20, 200817 yr next week it's on a Tuesday (including You're Fired), due to England vs USA. Surprised this week's hasn't been moved for the CL final. That's confidence from the BBC, or the iPlayer may just explode afterwards

Norma
May 20, 200817 yr Author Dragons Den is no more real at all. Unnecessarily competitive businessmen (and stupidly steely woman) feigning interests in a crappy product - half the time even if they get the money, the Dragons don't follow through anyway, once the cameras are off. And it certainly isn't anywhere near as entertaining - that bloody narrator's constant telling us of what's going on. 'Peter Jones has just pulled out. Only Duncan Bannatyne remains - will he be convinced by the vibrating toy banana?' Absolutely ridiculous, as if we can't see and hear for ourselves exactly what's going on!

It has comedy value though. I want £300,000 for a 5% share in my paper airplane. Yeah right!

They don't feign interest at all.. I they think something's sh!t, they'll say so.... The producers of the show are responsible for picking some of the most silly stuff.. And there are reasons why the Dragons dont follow through in a lot of cases - people often misrepresnt themselves and their businesses and make out that they have deals and contracts that they actually dont which only gets found out later on.... Agree with you on that tw@t of a narrator though.. I really do wish he'd shut the hell up.....
May 21, 200817 yr I'm glad its been moved for another reason - I can now watch the Mary Whitehouse drama with Julie Walters which is on on Wednesday at 9! That'll be good... Absolutely couldn't stand the woman herself (an utterly insufferable, extremist crank who should've just changed the bloody channel if she didn't like what was on...), but it should make a damn good drama....
May 21, 200817 yr I must be easily pleased. I enjoy The Apprentice and Dragon's Den. I take any reality Tv shows with a good bucket of salt. I wasn't keen on Mary Whitehouse when she was always on campaigning but I really like JulieWalters so I'm looking forward to this drama.
May 21, 200817 yr :o What a complete and utter backstabbing knob! Michael really is a complete and utter pratt. UGH. Firstly, how on earth Alex's team won is beyond me. I thought their whole thing bar maybe the name was dreadful. Raef's team made one major error yeah, but everything else was pretty much great imo. I thought Raef was gonna win this, majorly shocked he left tonight. My rankings: 01 - Claire  02 - Lucinda 03 - Lee 04 - Helene 05 - Alex 06 - Michael :puke2:
May 21, 200817 yr urgh the slimy t*** escaped again  surely to christ he has to be shaging sir alan to have gotten this far, or maybe one of the key producers.....
May 21, 200817 yr urgh the slimy t*** escaped again  surely to christ he has to be shaging sir alan to have gotten this far, or maybe one of the key producers..... I must admit ... I loved it when Raef's team were sniggering at the other team's advert ... not realising that they themselves had totally missed the point. On tonight's task, it pains me to say ... but Raef was the right one to go. It would have been nice though had S'rallan taken the opportunity to get rid of the odious little tw*t called Michael. Lucinda is just getting better by the moment. Claire has slipped again in my opinion ... smirking away like a Cheshire Cat! Hate her! Norma
May 21, 200817 yr Oh my God, my hatred for Michael grows stronger every week. He is just such a manipulative, cheating scumbag! UGH. I'm still cheering on Lucinda :yahoo: I'm beginning to warm to Helene too, for some reason
May 21, 200817 yr Author I'm in entire agreement with Ryan's ranking, except possibly switch Lee and Helene around...I can never decide. 1 Claire 2 Lucinda 3 Lee / Helene 4 Alex 5 Michael Stupid, stupid decision. Raef had business sense and integrity. God damn Sir Alan! :(
May 21, 200817 yr My order is: Lucinda Claire Helene Lee Alex Michael HOW great did Lucinda look in that sparkly dress in Harvey Nicks btw?! WOW!
