Geri has been an influence since I was a kid so I'm happy if she is happy I think all fans feel that.

Writing has always seemed her natural path after the SG as she has shown such love for it. I hope this book really surprises people.

Similar to what you were saying, away from that I personally find it all disingenuous, she seems to wanna fit in with a social scene she was not born into unlike her husband, so we get the white conservative clothes, the cliché housewife behaviour, the posh voice etc. On the 2019 tour I bloody loved Mel B interacting with her as she seemed to bring out the old Geri.

I do think if they do a final tour next year she'd do it if it was guaranteed to be the absolute last time, she and Victoria are done with it.

Lol, no. She can't write. That is a fact. New persona Geri tried to rewrite history of course, but no. Her natural path was SOMG WRITER, if that.

Queen Camilla Geri doing something we should all be proud of (regardless of the ties with the Monarchy). This is the Geri we need.

(I really, really, really don’t see any other Spice stuff happening after this)

Multimillionairs preaching and doing marketing about themselves 'helping the poor', specially royalty who made their multi-millions from theft and privilege, will always be revolting. It is not just condescending but incredibly wrong.

We dont need royalty and multi-millionairs doing this performative crap. We need them to distribute their money and let go of their privilege so that we can have a fair society where everyone has the same rights and resources. It's just performative crap.

I wish it was that easy. But hey, at least she’s using her new persona to do some good. I know it’s not like the folks helping refugees in the Mediterranean Sea or volunteers working directly with homeless people..

let’s see what she does.

I want to give Geri a chance.. she seems a bit lost and trying to find herself again.

Yes, yes!!!! I didn't know you wrre a leftist, too?? :o

I'm always impressed with how these people don't sweat. I feel like I'm constantly going around with pit stains in this humidity.

Relatable, honestly x

God she looks ridiculous. She is never going to be known as Posh Spice!! ESPECIALLY NOT GLOBALLY.
She really does look ridiculous there. Christian must be a bit embarrassed by her. It isn't an age thing, no one 20, 40, 50 or 60 would be seen dead looking like that.

Also, “Mrs Christian Horner”… why? So disappointing

Thank Godney for the Mels still being outspoken (and well-spoken) feminists. And, of course, Emma and her amazing husband and queer family.

The level of conserva-tory is scary.

This attacking of Geri for dressing a certain way, saying her husband must be embarrassed, belittling her choice of name… it’s so misogynistic and very anti spice girls.

Yeah, no. It's not misogynistic to challenge someone's behaviour. Men are also criticised for the same. Sorry.

Anti-Spice Girls is taking pictures with Liz Truss and supporting her running for Prime Minister, a woman that didn’t show any shame when she voiced her decision to cut on the gender equality agenda. Anti-Spice Girls is saying Margaret Thatcher was the OG Spice Girl, when Thatcher believed that she “owed nothing to women’s liberation”, nor to feminism. Anti-Spice Girl is saying that, quote, “it’s about labelling. For me feminism is bra-burning lesbianism. It’s very unglamorous. I’d like to see it rebranded. We need to see a celebration of our femininity and softness.” Anti-Spice Girls is erasing your own persona and changing your name to please a man’s ego. Anti-Spice Girls is denying a past relationship with another woman, as if that was something like a bad criminal record.

Spice Girls is educating others about violence against women and be outspoken about it - letting everybody know what you had to go through. Spice Girls is jumping on a truck to scream Be Proud in a country where there’s a right wing-government that opposes LGBTQ+ rights. Spice Girls is letting your kids get dressed as they want, being themselves and embracing colors in a world where everybody is asked to be plain-white.. pun intended.

PREACH PREACE PREACH!!!!!

There is only ONE anti-Spice around here, and it is zero-personality Tory Spice.

The Tory part isn't a fair criticism when Victoria and her family are Tory too and the girls adore the royals.

If this was for my comment, you can see I excluded Victoria from the good examples.

I am actually a communist, antifa and anti-monarchy :P

Yeah it's tough being a Spice fan due to Geri and Victoria's politics. AT THE VERY LEAST Victoria seems to be wise to not publicly be mingling with the neo-fascist Tories though at the moment, and she did turn it around in 2016 when she came out again Brexit (whereas she had previously stated she didnt like 'European beaurocrats making decisions for our country' or whatever the hell she said in that awful Spectator article back in 1997).

The connection to royalties, they do love for sure, and that sucks. All of them are guilty of it, although I think they simply lack the nuanced views on why it is so bad... It is very clear how indoctrinated into the monarchy the Brits are from a young age, it is at all levels, from school to government and entertainment. Some see through it, some dont. Some do see through it but feel it is perhaps ok...

My understandment of the girls' viewpoint is that some (Geri, Mel B, Victoria) are very much interested in getting the recognition/ego boost of being associated with them, whereas Mel C and Emma keep a polite distance (but neither of them would refuse an MBE either, put it that way!)

Not even PJ Harvey refused it. And other artists who are renowned for their left/progressive views, but at least they make better choices in everyday situations. I have the feeling smart-Geri realized she wasn’t going anywhere with music and decided to adopt this new persona, which seem(ed) a bit pathological at times (try to get the sarcasm), she became obsessed with the Royals, the Commonwealth, wearing white, having a posh accent, dismissing anything too “provocative” (see when she basically said Mel B was lying about their past relationship), and more cringe stuff.

Is she allowed to do all this? Hell yes! Go for it, girl!

But as a queer POC, I ain’t gonna spend a penny on anything she’s releasing, whether it’s that music, books or napkins.
