March 23, 200818 yr It's all very good and well GA getting an 18th constitutive top 10 single but it must surely of cost Polydor some money. 2 physical CD formats for a 3rd single. Which I can't imagine (given the current climbing and the average rise it will have had) selling hugely well, merely enough to get them top 10. The album isn't selling particularly impressively either. So a loss of money for them from this venture. I find it bizzare the manner in which Polydor manage GA I really do :wacko: Clearly they want to keep GA as the jewel in their crown at Fascination, which means keeping up their Top 10s record as a publicity tool, and to be honest, the album has risen hugely, and the video for Can't Speak French was pretty low budget I'd imagine. They might've made less of a loss on the single itself though, with just one CD out, I agree. Clearly EMI thought so with the Babes.

March 23, 200818 yr But its not just about the album/single sales anymore. They've sold over 270,000 tickets for their 25 date arena tour ... that must make Fascination/Polydor a lot?! They sell a lot more tickets than if they do just concert halls, but equally renting out the venue costs a hell of a lot more. Well done to the girls btw. ^_^

March 23, 200818 yr No one visits studio to record new songs just to use them as b-sides... All b-sides come from album sessions. They are usually songs that didn't make the final tracklisting on particular albums. With every hearbeat was recorder in Radio 1 while promoting Call The Shots so it also was hardly any cost. They might have just gone to the studio to sing Can't Speak Frnech in french.
