May 19, 200817 yr Author I saw me on telly ........ not a pretty sight!!!! Am hoping to improve time next Sunday - this time running 10km round Manchester City's stadium  ironically all the Sport Relief cameras either looked at the floor, or turned the other way when I headed towards them  Were they telling me something  You sooo have to wear something with Save Sven :heehee: So what was the time? :D
June 3, 200817 yr Author 1 hour 10 mins - hopeless!!! can only get better :cheer: Not that hopeless :P I'd be happy to get that again being all newish to the scene. My treadmill excursions are getting longer - 10.83km in a hour yesterday! How I'd love to make that sort of time for my 10K in September :D Reminds me, I'm supposed to start training this or next week. Time to finalise my training plan :cheer: Need to go and get an exercise bike (cheapish one will do) for some cross training to go with my Wii Fit board. Won't be all running in training this time like I did in my 6 weeks for Sport Relief  I'm a wiser old owl now
June 15, 200817 yr i went for a run today. a mile uphill toward ceres then a mile back again downhill. i hurt like hell.
June 17, 200817 yr Author i went for a run today. a mile uphill toward ceres then a mile back again downhill. i hurt like hell. That would be hill training for you  Plus if you hurt then it means you worked out well :D I went for my first run in 2 months after getting over the trauma of stretch marks  1km in 5:35 :o And I too, being out of practice, hurt like hell  :(
September 11, 200816 yr Author My 2nd 10K next Sunday. The long awaited 4th Tees Pride 10K. Anything under my Sport Relief time will be good, as training has been hit and miss trying to fit around shifts at work. I can smell my first half next year, if I can get a 10K early next year, to see if I'm ready enough. Got a new running watch to play with too :D
September 19, 200816 yr How did it go? I did 10km last Sunday (slow but comfortable) and have another this Sunday :o they are mere training runs for THE GREAT NORTH RUN arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!! 5th October.
September 19, 200816 yr Author thank you! :cheer: just one easy training run to go tomorrow, before the big day on Sunday :D
September 19, 200816 yr I like running thou I didn't run for months (I do so much sports that I had to quit something) but started again like two months ago, I do about 4-5km each time. Thou since gym, badminton and such has taken so much time with college and work so I haven't been running this week and I think since my badminton league starts full-steam next week I will be running even less. I don't know exactly how long my route is so cannot really say the time but I think I probably can do 2km in 8 minutes or so, at least I was able to do so before. And good luck with the run Sunday! And for the dude running about 11km on treadmill, whoa! While I very much like running outside I think treadmill is dreadfully boring and after 5 minutes of it I become so bored I have to quit and therefore at gym I have decided simply not to use it. Instead I cycle, row, or use some other equipment.
September 21, 200816 yr Author finished in 1:06:25 :cheer: just under a 3 minute improvement from March, with bit part training :D  :(
September 21, 200816 yr Good time!!!! go you :cheer: I did 1 hour 5minutes ..... 3 minutes faster than last week :yahoo: :yahoo: now have to ease up as the "Big One" approaches
September 21, 200816 yr Author congrats! :D I beat a couple of local celebrities :kink: so that makes up for the sadder sounding 2053rd  the outsides of my knees are starting to hurt now :( I'm sure the "Big One" will be great! 52,000 people, huge atmosphere to carry you round :D and BBC TV cameras everywhere keeping check :P Good luck with it! I hope to do it next year, after a few more races in the Spring, and I have a nice 5K free weekly run I've found I can do as well.
