April 2, 200817 yr Probably the highest exclusion is Elvis Presley - All Shook Up (re-issue), which would have been #2 in January 2005 (behind Jailhouse Rock) but was excluded because it came with a box-set.
April 3, 200817 yr Author Probably the highest exclusion is Elvis Presley - All Shook Up (re-issue), which would have been #2 in January 2005 (behind Jailhouse Rock) but was excluded because it came with a box-set. Well spotted!
April 3, 200817 yr Crazy by Gnarls got deleted because the Company wanted them to release more stuff and they thought this would stop them ever having another hit again! And they were so true
April 3, 200817 yr And, as a small addition to this......"Jack Your Body" by Steve Silk Hurley SHOULD (according to chart rules at the time) have been excluded from the chart for an overlong running time. For some reason however, it wasn't and made No.1.
April 3, 200817 yr There was also Pop! with Heaven and Earth which had its 2 track excluded the week after its release cos it was 30 seconds too long or something like that
April 3, 200817 yr And they were so true  No they didn't - they made No10 with Smiley Faces a few months later. Admittedly, no-one can remember it… And, wasn't one of the CDs for Ronan Keating's WYSNAA ineligble for the chart due to having three tracks plus a CD-R interview?
April 3, 200817 yr Although deleted, e.g. I remember the un/loveable Boyzone, and No Matter What being still well stocked in the shops, after it was taken out of the official chart, and the same story for Gnarls Barkley and the never-going Crazy. It was still allowed in MRIB`s top 75. After falling to 5, Crazy went 7, 11, 14, 22, 21, and then fell from the top 30, when Smiley Faces entered.
April 4, 200817 yr No they didn't - they made No10 with Smiley Faces a few months later. Admittedly, no-one can remember it… And, wasn't one of the CDs for Ronan Keating's WYSNAA ineligble for the chart due to having three tracks plus a CD-R interview? I can remember but it disappeared very fast so chartwise it was a hit but noone can remember of that. So was it really a hit?
April 4, 200817 yr Spare a thought for poor Daniel Powter who is currently consigned to the one hit wonder category due to a chart exclusion. His follow up, Free Loop contained a version of Bad Day, and as the latter was still charting, his second single was removed from the charts!
April 4, 200817 yr I can remember but it disappeared very fast so chartwise it was a hit but noone can remember of that. So was it really a hit? Lol! It would be interesting to see that definition of a "hit" applied to chart history! And just for the record, I remember Smiley Faces and like it....and let's not forget they have a current Top 40 hit too.
April 5, 200817 yr Stop The Clocks E.P. - Oasis, was disqualified because it contained too many tracks. It was an import, and on a physical chart it would have been no` 1 in November 2006. On a combined download/physical chart it would have settled for a top 5 place.
April 6, 200817 yr Although deleted, e.g. I remember the un/loveable Boyzone, and No Matter What being still well stocked in the shops, after it was taken out of the official chart, and the same story for Gnarls Barkley and the never-going Crazy. Don't know which chart you are remembering but here is the official chart run courtesy of Polyhex {1}-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-2-5-30R(30)-51-49-54-66-66R(2)-67->18 It was deleted while still number 1 and during the two weeks grace then given for deleted singles fell to #2 then #5 and was excluded until downloads were allowed in the charts when it re-entered well after Smiley Faces had charted
April 9, 200817 yr And, wasn't one of the CDs for Ronan Keating's WYSNAA ineligble for the chart due to having three tracks plus a CD-R interview? It was Life Is A Rollercoaster. It went straight in to number one despite one of the CDs being excluded. The second week it fell to number 2 in favour of 5ive's We Will Rock You however if both CDs had been counted it would have stayed at number one for a second week.
April 9, 200817 yr There was also Pop! with Heaven and Earth which had its 2 track excluded the week after its release cos it was 30 seconds too long or something like that :o OMG I loved that song  shame about what happened to it though! :(

I'm no great fan of either act but a second week for Ronan would have been far more preferable to the dire Queen cover by 5ive...

I only realised that a couple days ago. And I would have preferred that at No1 rather than the dire cover of We Will Rock You.
