I heard they were gonna follow it up in the US! Which is a shame really as the Ring two was absoloutely DIRE! :(

April 30, 200817 yr and wasnt there a korean version as well??? Yeah, "Ring Virus".... Oh, and not forgetting the little-known Japanese follow up "Spiral", which was actually based upon the second book in Koji Suzuki's trilogy, as opposed to the "official" Nakata sequel which has sod all to do with the actual book itself, it goes off on another narrative direction entirely.... It's confusing as hell really.... I thought this might be a proper end to the trilogy - a film based upon "Loop", the third book in the trilogy.... So, let's just lay this out shall we and establish exactly what we're talking about... Japan - Ringu - The first film from Japan based upon the book by Koji Suzuki Ringu 2 - The "sequel" to the first film, also done by Nakata, but has nothing in common with "Spiral" (Rasen), the second book in the trilogy Ringu 0 - A Prequel, which has even less to do with Suzuki's trilogy Spiral - An actual adaption of Suzuki's second book which focusses less on horror, more on psychogical drama, more of a proper "sequel" in terms of following the narrative of the books than the official film sequel... Korea Ring Virus - Based upon the Japanese film and Suzuki's first book. Is apparently more like the book than Ringu is, the horror elements are played down in favour of a more adult drama US The Ring - First US film based upon the Japanese film Ring 2 - Not related in the slightest to either the book "Spiral", or the Japanese "Ringu 2", a totally different narrative Frankly, I'd like to see somebody tackling the real ending to the trilogy - "Loop"....
April 30, 200817 yr I really liked the first 2 so I look forward to seeing this Which "first two" are you talking about though....? :P
May 1, 200817 yr Which "first two" are you talking about though....? :P the US ones, I don't think I could watch a film in another language Edited May 1, 200817 yr by Lukuzz
May 3, 200817 yr the US ones, I don't think I could watch a film in another language Then you're missing out on a lot mate, trust me... I honestly dunno why you'd want to be content with watching the rather ropey remakes over the superior originals tbh.... Viewing subtitles aint as difficult as you thin actually, once you make the adjustment, it's really not that bad.... Some other great horror/suspense/dark fantasy films your missing out on include "Frontiere(s)", "El Orfanato" (The Orphanage), "Pan's Labyrinth", "[Rec]", "Calvaire" (The Ordeal), "Satan".... Seriously, give it a go some time, theres' a lot out there that's better than the hoary c**p that Hollywood is coming out with at the moment.... ;)
May 6, 200817 yr the US ones, I don't think I could watch a film in another language :/ How ignorant. 'Volver' is one of the best films I have seen in recent years.
