Posted April 17, 200817 yr All - currently we are spending over £200 per month on advertising which although sustainable has meant it is a MUST we add more advertising and ways to generate revenue to the site. We will tweak the settings and display over time and listen to any comments made :) As we grow we need a site that generates revenue to pay for future competitions, future design changes and any other associated software charges. We run the site for the community, the adverts are to make sure that BuzzJack's future remains strong and we are able to move forward in the directions we need.
April 17, 200817 yr I dont like it either but whatever is best for the forum. I'll get used to it I guess.
April 17, 200817 yr Meh, I'm here for the discussion, not how the forum looks. [That sounds incredibly cheesy. :kink: ]
April 17, 200817 yr I have my grievances about the side ad. It just leaves a rather ugly looking white margin making the forum look all squashed to the left once you scroll past it :(
April 17, 200817 yr Too many in the face ads can put people off too. Yes we need ad revenue to increase, but I can't see the side one helping in particular. The percentage of people who click through ads is well small to say the least, even on a site of this size. The top and bottom ones are pretty standard and I think most guests could live with them, as could members.
April 17, 200817 yr Is it me, or do the online users at the bottom look bigger   I guess the side ad is effecting the structure of the board
April 17, 200817 yr Leona + gay partnership ads It's like they've tailored these ads to the dominating plastick majority :o
April 17, 200817 yr Author it is essentially to put them in places that people will see them, So for members they are: Globally at the top At the bottom of each page of a topic and for guests there is an additional one after the first post in a topic. I will see how the top ad impacts :D
April 17, 200817 yr Is it possible to have the ads moved to the bottom rather the top when you open the main page of each AF? It is really offputting, but I wouldn't mind at all if they were on the bottom?
April 17, 200817 yr Author unfortunately not as it is globally at the top. I am working on something to incorporate the AF banner into our own banner going forward so im hoping this will help.
