LMFAO! How the hell did Mika and Dizzee Rascal get nominated? They are two of the WORST videos of 2009 :drama: I haven't seen the other 2 videos, so I hope she wins this awars :D

Indeed. Flabbergasted at Mikas nomination. Creepiest/worst video of the year it wins hands down.
One of my favorite remixes of all time.

Could this possibly top it?

By far the best Just Dance remix I've heard thus far, 7 immense minutes of heaven. Just hearing this is enough to brainwash my mind with tipsyness. :drama:

I don't think Poker face will be incredibly successful tbh...

Same station? What an awful station. :P

I reckon Poker Face will do well too... #1 in Australia for four (?) weeks, gone to #1 in New Zealand and Canada too and is doing well across Europe too. Of course, that doesn't always translate to how well something will do in the UK (La Tortura for example!) but I still reckon it'll go top five here.

 Sorry to bump an old thread but I just find it funny that people said PF would only go top 5 and not be successful, looking back. If I could go back in time and tell people of Buzzjack that PF will go on to sell a million I bet you'd think wtf?

JD and PF will always be great songs

It is nearly 10 years since 'Just Dance' come out,

The song that introduced us to Lady GaGa and featured Colby O'Donis, this was co-written by rapper Akon and was produced by RedOne. This was a #1 in the UK, US and in Australia, Canada, Ireland, the Netherlands.

What are your views on this now?

Not one of her best songs for me.

BUT it’s special in the sense that it turned her into a star, gave her a #1 and changed her life.

She’s definitely topped this numerous times since though.

I actually think it’s the one Gaga single what could’ve been sung by someone else (aside from the opening line when she literally says Gaga) it doesn’t have that typical Gaga feel tracks like Poker Face and Bad Romance had.

I feel like 'Telephone' very much fits into that category.

I feel like 'Telephone' very much fits into that category.

It’s funny you say that because that’s my second least fave single of hers! And it’s not just because Beyoncé who I’m not a fan of in the slightest is on the track. I see what you mean by that comment. Telephone has an iconic video though which is why I rank it higher than Just Dance.

Happy 12th birthday to the OG single! :cheer:

How do you feel about the single today?

LOVE IT! Instant classic for me still and brings back so many memories of being a child and getting into Gaga at such a young age.

A classic for sure

One she’s bettered many times since but I still have a love for it and i really love watching the video back too looking at what happened as a result of this to get her to where she is now.

I didn’t hear this until much later in 2008 but from around November of that year I was obsessed

Happy birthday 'Just Dance' :cheer: today I found an old 2009 UK chart online where 'Poker Face' was at its 3rd week at #1, 'The Fame' had climbed back to #1 in the albums and 'Just Dance' was still riding high in the top 15! Ahhh the memories of being a stan during that crazily successful era

So crazy looking back through this thread and all the memories!

Whatever happened to Colby O'Donis though? I literally never heard his name ever again after this.

This song is so amazing. I hope it gets a release in the UK, it could be HUGE

...and little did we know how huge she'd actually become

It's the song which started it all for her so I'd imagine this will hold a special place in her heart

My thoughts too! When she enters at the start of the music video: HISTORY WAS MADE.

I still really like the song, particularly how many different sections it has. A full listen is an experience. It's obviously been bettered since, but I still love it
