April 27, 200818 yr 14 (from 16) Nickelback - Rockstar [P] http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/RR39323.JPG Chart Run: 64-58-45-34-20-21-19-22-25-25-15-8-4-6-3-3-2-2-3-3-3-5-5-7-10-13-16-14 [28 wks] Release date: 12-11-2007 Availability: in stock Number of Discs: 1 Catalogue Number: RR39323 Label: ROADRUNNER Though journalistic shorthand often finds Nickelback dubbed "the Canadian Creed", the band found success on its own terms right from the start with the 2000 debut album THE STATE. It may be true that the band's heavy guitars, pounding drums, and dramatic vocals are in line with the Creed approach, but like that band, Nickelback is equally indebted to the heavy metal and hard rock heroes of the '70s. As with many other 21st century heavy rockers, though, Nickelback fits catchy pop sensibilities into their sonic onslaught, ensuring as enthusiastic a reception from radio as they receive from their rabid fanbase. - HMV Video here: wRvOqKW1700 Discussion Thread Here

April 27, 200818 yr 38 (from 66) Robyn - Who's That Girl [D] http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/1768011.JPG Chart Run: 66-38 [2 wks] Release date: 28-4-2008 Availability: pre-order now Number of Discs: 1 Catalogue Number: 1768011 Label: ISLAND Swedish pop diva Robyn began writing songs when she was 11, and was still at school when she launched a music career. Robyn enjoyed instant success with the melodic urban pop track "Do You Really Want Me". Her debut album was re-released in America in 1997, and generated two Top 10 pop hits with "Do You Know (What It Takes)" and "Show Me Love". After refusing to have her follow-up effort, MY TRUTH, re-recorded for the U.S., Robyn retreated to her native Stockholm to regroup. After almost a decade away--an eternity in pop music--Robyn re-appeared, rejuvenated with a set of thrilling electro-pop tunes. The first fruits of her new direction--2006's "The Rakamonie EP"--on her own Konichiwa label led to a licensing deal with V2 Records in the U.K. Her long-awaited third album, ROBYN, was finally released in April 2007. - HMV Video here: UYomJbEZG54 track listing 1. Sadly I wouldn't be surprised to see this song just miss the top 20 next week.

April 27, 200818 yr Just about anything else on there. Perhaps between either Radar, Toy Soldier, Heaven On Earth or Hot As Ice would have been better? I fear for the actual sanity of any nutter who believes that tacky, mindless, tat Hot As Ice to be better than Break The Ice! :heehee:
April 27, 200818 yr I fear for the actual sanity of any nutter who believes that tacky, mindless, tat Hot As Ice to be better than Break The Ice! :heehee: To me 'Break The Ice' is pretty much the dictionary definition of tacky and mindless.

April 27, 200818 yr 11 (from 7) Mariah Carey - Touch My Body [P] http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/1766284.JPG Chart Run: 6-5-7-11 [4 wks] Release date: 31-3-2008 Availability: in stock Number of Discs: 1 Catalogue Number: 1766284 Label: MERCURY With her multi-octave voice and more than 80 million records sold worldwide, it's no surprise that pop diva Mariah Carey is viewed as the successor to Whitney Houston. She emerged as the premier R&B/pop songstress of the 1990s, and by the end of the decade had shifted gears a bit by collaborating with the likes of Ol' Dirty bast*rd and incorporating elements of hip-hop into her sound. Though her 2001 big-screen debut, GLITTER, was a total flop and something of a blow to Carey's seemingly Teflon career, her 2005 comeback record, THE EMANCIPATION OF MIMI, solidified her status as a true pop-music diva. - HMV Video here: kZ2HB2b_xpQ track listing 1.
