I've listened to Hard Candy 3 times this morning..

 

I am not impressed, it's uninspired, dull and probably one of my least favourite madonna albums of all time.

 

Maybe it's a grower :(

 

 

I'm not even going to bother buying the hard candy album. I love Madonna but I feel so disappointed and uninspired by her new material. That album could have been recorded by anyone such as Beyonce, Rihanna or Nelly Furtado. Her voice sounds drained and the songs are dull. I think she's missed the boat this time around and hope it doesnt sell as well as the far superior confessions album, which in my opinion was the best of her career.

Alot of artists seem to be coming back with disappointing new albums. Both Madonna's & Kylie's latest offerings arent great. However, Britneys is brilliant in comparison.

Surprisingly good sales for Madonna it looks like Hard Candy will deffo sell over 100k this week and Portishead could shift over 70k very strong sales for the top2 in 2008's market!

 

Although Wiley is No1 on i-tunes Wearing My Rolex's popularity hasn't gone of the scale like it did with Duffy, Estelle and Madonna so physical sales are coming more into play and download patterns from other sites i-tunes 'only' has half the market. Although I'd say Wiley will probably take Sam Sparro by Sunday Madonna looks good for a third week at No1.

 

Stunned Wideboys have flopped the beat on that one is heavy!

I was dissappointed with all 3 tbh, some good tracks on X though and some good ones on blackout but they are all too similar, thats the trouble.

 

And yes madonna is too try hard, she wasn't on ray of light though. You could totally tell that is one of her most comfortable albums she's done and it shows. From people who have met madonna, thats much more the person she is.

She can't please everyone i guess. COADF was a euro dance album, did kinda well in the states but amazing in Europe. With Hard Candy she is already doing great in the states but maybe not so good like confessions. 4 minutes apparently went over a million sales in its fifth week there. Doing much better than Hung Up. So it is hard to judge the success.
