i think more entertaining presenters, that would have a huge impact

but they are obviously other ways to improve it

Scott Mills as presenter, bring back the Retro, give out chart facts.

yes i agree reggie & fearne do tend to give out the wrong chart info....... sometimes.

Some kind of Retro and show some future releases too. Maybe some interesting facts and stats every week (?)

No 'What do popstars smell like' features.

No cakes that look like boobs.

No 'and the 1s and 2s' every time H20 is played

No 'Sugababs'

More interviews with the actual people whose songs feature in the chart, more emphasise on songs which might chart in the future....absolutely never bring back the Retro!
I liked that Track Vs Track thingy they did to begin with.

Yes, plus NO SMS questions like "who's gonna be this week's Nr.1"

If I was a presenter I'd play all the 40 songs instead of some crappy star interviews!!

Yes I agree. No sms messages at all. Who cares what 15 years old girls and guys say? ("Madonna for number 1", Wiley should be number 1" etc.) Pointless

What to do with the chart show? Personally start the programme at 2pm. Give the great Sean Tilley, the job as host (he`d been brillant, currently at Severn Sound). He knows the facts about everyone. Also, double up the new chart, with a chart from the past. That would increase listening figures, and bring in the slightly older person to listen (a family thing). Add in some sound effects, for songs going up and down, keep chat to a minimum (i.e. less chat, more chart).

In 5 hours they could get in 80 songs. Call it the double top 40 show, put it on Radio 2, and get rid of the annoying nonsensical "Pick Of The Pops". Then the audience would double anyway. The Album chart, could follow (with it`s own show, complete with compilation chart too). Radio One would then concentrate on pure "new" music.

Fearne on her own.

Jesus Christ

Well seeing how the last two sets of presenters (JK & Joel & Reggie & Fearne) are double acts who seem to just turn up & bluster there way through the show with no research whatsoever, then Radio 1 might as well turn it into something worth listening to by getting one of the following double acts acts:

Smashie & Nicey (Harry Enfield & Paul Whitehouse)

The Mighty Boosh (Julian Barratt and Noel Fielding)

The Peep Show (David Mitchell and Robert Webb)

Gavin & Stacy's (Mathew Horne & James Corden)

Or alternatively get one person who can mimmick a number of famous cartoon characters

Seth McFarlane (writer of Family Guy & who voices Peter Griffin, Stewie Griffin, Brian Griffin, Glenn Quagmire, and Tom Tucker)

.... Or seriously, get in a DJ who knows what they are talking about, with the relevant chart stats in front of them, to present the show in a no nonsense professional style (like Bruno Brookes & Mark Goodyer, etc did back in the day) with the same format that worked so well back in the 1970s/1980s when 13-14 million people tuned in to the show on a Sunday afternoon.

Back in the 1970s the format was a three-hour show featuring new releases, climbers and chart entries below the Top 20 from 4 - 5:30 to 6 pm, and the Top 20 itself from 5:30 - 6 to 7 pm. Add the album Top 10 countdown & voila.....

For crying out loud, it is hardly rocket science is it? You'd never get some celebrity/presenter/actor/comedian commentating on an important Football/Cricket/Rugby/F1 Motor Racing/Horse Racing/Boxing match & have no stats, facts & figures in front of them, so why do Radio 1 think it is acceptable for the flagship chart show is beyond my comprehension.

1) Play each song in its entirety in the top 40.

2) Top 20 albums

3) Get rid of Fearne and Reggie

4) Bring back Mark Goodier

5) Introduce all new entries

Firstly, they need to get rid of Fearne Cotton. She is so annoying and make it a one presenter show. Then, keep it as a chart show and not all the crappy chat stuff which seems to have spoilt the show. Playing every song in the top40 and also look at the charts from other countries such as a run down of the US top 10.
No he couldn`t do it!

LOL
