September 10, 200915 yr Dragonette will be the new ReVaughn! I take it this was the one that was PJ's song of the day today, didn't have a chance to listen to it yet, will do in due course...I liked Fixin' To Thrill but not overwhelmingly so
September 10, 200915 yr Author I don't follow Popjustice anymore, so I wouldn't know. This is miles better than Fixin to Thrill imo. Which is an okay song with some good parts, but just a bit too messy and disorganized. This is a much more focused and beautiful song. And lawlzz perhaps. I feel bad entering an artist back to back but I did it with Royksopp and I'm going to probably do it again this time LOL. I think this will appeal to a lot of people who probably hated Fixin to Thrill. It's a bit Ladyhawke-ish.
September 10, 200915 yr just listened to it, didn't think much of it but then Fixin' To Thrill didn't grow until the third listen...
September 10, 200915 yr 14BsjAqv-Vc :wub: My new entry. It must beeee. Sexy People is catchy but this is just OOMPHHH.prefer Fixin To Thril myself, but i adore Dragonette. :wub:
September 13, 200915 yr Author That's what my heart is telling me. :wub: But logically I can see Lolene doing much better...and I still love the song of course. Hm. :(
October 13, 200915 yr Author AptagRqy6EA If the contest was soon, I'd probably send this. But considering it's like 3 weeks from now chances are new things will pop up. This song is already a bit old for some people probablyzz. AH WELL. I don't have as much time as I'd like to to look for things as I used to. ;( Cheesy but fun. SO IT'S CRITICALLLL. Or I could take a huge risk and send a ridiculous Korean pop song LOL. Zafb4E1dr0o The actual song is at 0:35. 9gZD26G38dc lololzzz love. :wub: Would do horribly of course though.
October 13, 200915 yr Author Overall K-Pop is a bit of an EH genre because you're never going to find any true innovation in it. It's all based off what's successful in the America/UK markets translated into Korean. Still, there usually are gems released every month or so, those two songs in particular I find ridiculously catchy. Asian music videos are always completely top notch though, far better than any other mainstream music scene out there tbh.
October 13, 200915 yr SWEET LORD. YOU MUST SEND MUZIK. LIKE, NOW. I think that song just triggered an epiphany for me.
October 13, 200915 yr Author :o Perhaps I should go risky next contest? It's not like I have anything to lose...The previous Asian songs entered in this contest have been rather EH, maybe this could change that. Besides Exodus '04 which should have WON tbh.
October 13, 200915 yr Correction. Exodus '04 should've won (or at least 2nd placed it behind Gomenasai), the Double J remix NAYYYYY.
October 13, 200915 yr Author The Double J Remix is FABOOSH. The original would have done just as poorly though tbh LOL. The contest was very, very different back then. Not that it'd do now well, either. THE MUSICCCC SSSSSSSSSSSSSEXY MUSIC FFFFFFFFFFFUNKY MUSIC
October 13, 200915 yr I dunno, Exodus '04 might get some kind of cult following if you sent it nowadays (like, a Katie Miller-Heidke-esque one?), but it's all conjecture. It's times like this I want to make it a law that you can send whatevz from the first five contests seeing as cheap was just rampant back then and anyting that was amazing/inspired just flopped :( Plus, there are only like, what, eight or so of us left from back then? We didn't even get a chance to put the good stuff through to the Best of cos everyone just nominated what they already knew from the first five anyway ;_;
October 13, 200915 yr Shakira - Pure Intuition {BEST} Regina Spektor - The Call Kelis ft. Andre 3000 - Millionaire The Veronicas - Untouched Florence and the Machine - Kiss With a Fist Isabel Guzman - Mysterious WTF WAS I ON AT THIS TIME? It would so be: Mysterious KWAF Untouched The Call Pure Intuition Millionaire these days :/

True, true ;) And they release singles waaay more often.. and sometimes with a surprisingly high quality too!
October 15, 200915 yr Author tKl59cn0P8E Holy $h!t. When this leaks in high quality, I am sending it. o_o
