You did this last year? I should've read it before buying it last year

can we have a tally of the mistakes found in the Guinness Book of Hit Singles & Albums 19th Edition and the one found in the graham betts singles book.

then can decide which book is better to get for the sinlges run down

Uniting Nations-Out of Touch did not peak at No.12 but somewhere in the top 10-#7 I think?
Sorry if this a bit OT. Though can someone post the sales of the top ten best selling singles and albums for 2005, they normally carry them. Thanks :)
I haven't got the full sales to hand but I do remember seeing Westlife in the top 10 singles and I think albums too :-)

Yes, it peaked at Number 7 in early 2005.

Is this book known for making lots of mistakes then?

Yes, very much so, David. It makes many mistakes every edition - for instance, it has got Texas' chart runs wrong several times, missing off whole albums and singles!

Why do people still buy the books then?

I saw on ChC someone had found 300 errors and got their name printed in the front because they had found so many! :o

Yes, that was in the days of CC, we had a huge thread full of mistakes! Its good to buy still, as the majority of the information is correct!

Found a few:

Akon - Locked Up (import) peaked at #61, not #73

Jamie Cullum's most recent hit was Mind Trick, not Mind Track

Tears - Lovers spent 2 weeks on chart, not 1

its not my computer and when my dad is on it you need the book to look thing up in.

however i normally buy it every year along with the radio times film guide

Thats true, didn't notice that :)

so no one bought the book that came out 4 weeks ago? or does the Guinness book have such a cult that everyone will ignore other chart books even though guinness might be useless
