Posted June 3, 200817 yr I bought the album last Friday and had 30 listens since then, so I think I would post a review here. ^_^ I am going to use the 10 points scale here. :P About you now - Fantastic start for the album but I am underwhlemed by Amelle's vocal... 9/10 Never gonna dance again - Excellent, sad that it's not released as single. 10/10 Denial - I love the lyrics but somehow the melody and the voices of babes doesn't go well together. :huh: 7.5/10 My love is Pink - It has a typical, classic Sugababes sounds to the song and seriously, it should've been a single as well 9/10 Change - All three babes are excellent on the vocal side, I do understand why it's the second single but imo it's not strong enough to become their classic. 7/10 Back When - the song sounds so lovely and warm and again all three of them are excellent on the vocal side 8/10 Surprise - erm... it's an ok track but it really doesn't do anything on me. 7/10 Back down - please back down this track. -_- 3/10 Mended by you - absolute classic for them, should be the fourth single in my opinon 9/10 3 spoons of suga - the title sounds sugary to me but the song fails to deliver 3/10 Open the door - after 30 listens and it does nothing for me 6/10 Undignified - same as above 6/10 Overall Comment: When I bought X, I found that first half of the album is very good and it has a consistent sounds but half way through the album, the songs are quite disjoint, the same goes for "Change", althought both of them have some good tracks in their second half. As for Amelle, man, I tell you what, she has a good voice but her vocal just doesn't fit to the overall Sugababes sound that we are used to when Mutya was around. Also I do find her vocal underperformed sometimes... :mellow:

Never Gonna Dance Again - 9.5/10 instant classic Denial - 10/10 i can never get enough of this song its superb My Love Is Pink - 5/10 a bit $h!t tbh Change - 8/10 great but not stronger/tliy Back When - 7/10 dull with a flash of brilliance. Surprise - 4/10 make MLIP look good Back Down - 10/10 One of the best babes tracks ever Mended By You - 9/10 :wub: $h!ts all over Change 3 Spoons Of Suga - 10/10 Its amazing, and i agree with Heidi, should have been the album title Undignified - 4/10 touching lyrics but it bores me. Open The Door - 2/10 filler, and its not even any good. Overall: 7.5/10
June 4, 200817 yr Heres my review - 1 - About You Now - 10/10 - One of the best pop songs of the decade thus far. FACT! 2 - Never Gonna Dance Again - 7/10 - I must admit, i'm NOT a big fan of this. It lacks something for me. What that is... I Dont know :( 3 - Denial - 9/10 - Loved this before it got released. Really happy when they announced they were releasing and a standout definately. 4 - My Love Is Pink - 7/10 - Again like Never Gonna Dance Again, This lacks something which i dont quite know what exactly :thinking: 5 - Change - 8/10 - Great Ballad, Should have stayed as an album track though. 6 - Back When - 10/10 - Fantastic. I love this. Its catchy and really upbeat. Would LOVE to see it performed live :) 7 - Surprise - 10/10 - Brilliant, although at first when i heard this i was like WTF? but i love it now really catchy! 8 - Back Down - 8/10 - I quite like this. I must admit, didnt grab my attention as much as i had hoped but, hey... 9 - Mended By You - 10/10 - I'm a REAL Sucker for this song :wub: Its beautiful and their voies are gorgeous on this track. 10 - 3 Spoons of Suga - 9/10 - So glad it was used on the St. Trinians theme. Its really instant and stays on your mind, whether you like it or not! 11 - Open The Door - 7/10 - Yes this is a filler track its not bad but nothing... 'Wow' either :( 12 - Undignified - 8/10 - This is quite good. But I was expecting a better ending TBH! Overall Rating I give it a 8.5/10 ^_^ A Very good album IMO especially seeing as i really was disappointed in their other albums. This one sets a new height for them

June 4, 200817 yr 1 - About You Now - 10/10 - A great pop song which i think never has bored me 2 - Never Gonna Dance Again - 9/10 - again this is a fab song and i love heidis part 3 - Denial - 10/10 - To me this is one of the best pop songs too,i just love it soo much, so glad it was released. 4 - My Love Is Pink - 8/10 - love this too allthough not my fav 5 - Change - 8/10 - Great Ballad, really like this and the vid is fab :D 6 - Back When - 7.5/10 - Fantastic. I love this, however after a few listens its lost its charm,at first i didnt like but it is really good. 7 - Surprise - 9/10 - really like this song one of my fav from the album,really good beat,should be a 4th single ^^, 8 - Back Down - 6/10 - its ok , nothing special 9 - Mended By You - 3/10 - im not a fan of slow songs,its reminds me of too lost in you the beat,but i dont like it :( 10 - 3 Spoons of Suga - 6/10 - again this has a cool beat and a catchy tune,i quite like. 11 - Open The Door - 3/10 - nothing special :( 12 - Undignified - 3/10 - again doesent grab my attention allthough i havent listened to it too much.

June 4, 200817 yr Here's my review: About You Now - Love this track! The best on the album. Pop at it's purest. :D 8/10 Never Gonna Dance Again - I think this track is a little over-rated. It's good, but not great. 7.5/10 Denial - Nothing outstanding, but quite a catchy and cool song. 7.5/10 My Love Is Pink - One of my favorites. Would have been a good single personally. 8/10 Change - It's good at first, but it gets boring quickly. However, it has a great meaning and lyrics behind it. 8/10 Back When - I really like this song. It's not mind-blowing, but it's a catchy and quite funky song. 7.5/10 Surprise - It's quite simply good lol. Nothing more, nothing less. 7/10 Backdown - Very different style to the usual pop track they produce. I don't love it, but it has a cool edge about it. 7/10 Mended By You - Not as good as Change, but it still has an emotional feel to it. 7.5/10 3 Spoons of Suga - I like this, but unfortunately it's nothing that I want to listen to over and over again. 7/10 Open The Door - I love this, one of my favs. I think this track is very under-rated. Yes, it's nothing special, but I love the chorus and the simple and effective beats with the "ooohhs" :lol: 8/10 Undignified - It's ok. Quite a strange end to the album. 6.5/10 Overall score: 7.5/10 Overall, the album is slightly disappointing judging on the quality of the three singles. And Robin, you always seem to be making out like Amelle is hated or something. It's so odd - as you can see, in the poll in this forum she's the most loved Babe by far!
