Posted June 19, 200817 yr this is where I put my neck on the line to predict one of the outsiders to come up into the top 5 for a surprise finish...now I'm not going to suggest that a dark horse will definitely win, as Bhangra, Mdice, Nonsuch and M.K.L all have an incredibly strong chance of winning, although we all thought that about Kopecka in the last contest :( so first I will highlight 5 songs that could be contenders for the dark horse and then I will pick my dark horse. Hopefully it will have the same magic touch that I gave to Quotosibb last time around...when I sensationally claimed that due to Beverley's amazing vocal, everyone should watch out for it in the final, when hardly any of the bookies gave it any good odds! It did of course win, and also bear in mind that I got the top 4 of Eurovision EXACTLY right and in the correct order, in my prediction thread for that! :P here are my 5 contenders for the dark horse title (in no particular order): Utopia - Ida Maria - Queen of the World Sangria - Linda Kiraly - Can't Let Go Ashton - Red Blooded Women - Colour Me Dirty Jester's Kingdom - Beth Rowley - Oh My Life Herzebania - Jeanette - Hold the Line and I can reveal that gooddelta's 'dark horse' is... Ashton - Red Blooded Women - Colour Me Dirty but I some if not all of these songs to finish higher than some bookies suggest :P

I don't think the dark horse will win this time, I think one of the favourites will win. That said, I've only received 3 out of (hopefully) 41 votes and I haven't started tallying yet, so I could be very wrong.

I'm not sure how Kylienips is feeling about this contest. He hasn't said he wont vote, but I'm wondering if he will. I'm not sure about Torchwood either. I told JamesP that if he listened to all the songs before going away and sent me his top 41 I would work out his votes by eliminating the non-qualifiers but he probably didn't have time. He has been online since going on holiday though, so he might vote.

That said, I've only received 3 out of (hopefully) 41 votes and I haven't started tallying yet, so I could be very wrong. exactly...for example in this year's ESC, Russia and Ukraine were always going to do well...I suppose Maria (Norway) was the 'dark horse' but still only came 5th behind 4 of the big favourites even if Mdice for example received 5 points from every country voting, it would still be by far our biggest winning song ever!

I feel sorry for Martin not qualifying :( but I didn't think much of the track myself, it's probably a grower but it hadn't grown on me from 2 listens so I wonder how much more I could have taken of that song :o

June 20, 200817 yr That Linda Kiraly song is flipping AMAZING its seriously good I am finding it harder, who to give my 12 points too :( all because of this song being alot alot better than i thought and it gets better and better with each listen! :heart: 'This Love is so disfunctional, It leaves me so emotional' :heart: Also loving the Jeanette song at the moment too I will have to give the others a listen before i vote... thats why i havent voted yet Ali :P :lol: Edited June 20, 200817 yr by Johnjo07
June 20, 200817 yr I feel bad for Mart!n. :( I would have given it at least 7 points if it was in my semi final. Still, it was a close competition. I think the standards for this contest have been higher than they have ever.
