In a ceremony in the Shadowan capital of Kentish Town this evening, all major Presidents, Prime Ministers, Kings and Queens gathered from the BuzzJack World to see the Kingdom of Shadow's presentation of their entry into the eighth BuzzJack Song Contest to be held in Rontvia. Guests were invited to eat as many exceedingly good cakes as they liked before being asked to take their seats in the Shadowan amphetheatre, setting the mood for what would be an intense announcement.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, I ask you to please turn your eyes to the stage as we reveil the Shadowan entry in the Eighth BuzzJack Song Contest".

As the video came to an end, the King of Shadow stood up to make his speech;
"That is right. The Kingdom of Shadow shall begin their fightback in FSR Rontvia!
"After the huge disappointment of BJSC 7 and failing to make the final, the Kingdom of Shadow was broken. But we Shadowans are not people to dwell on past defeats, oh no, we have used this frustration and upset to improve our musical knowledge and to fight back with a more powerful emotive ballad than we believe the BuzzJack World has ever seen. Mutya Buena knows our pain, and I feel this great reflection of the public's mood in 'Strung Out' can result in the Kingdom of Shadow's best result yet, by finally propelling us up into the top ten!

To summarise the Kingdom of Shadow shall be sending Mutya Buena and 'Strung Out' to FSR Rontvia in three weeks time.

You are going to actually USE her this time round arent you? Coz i am gonna be v annoyed if you dont coz i wanted to use this entry but because you said you wanted her, I didnt include her in my NF's.

it's also a shame for me as I'm the host as I know I'll get to know all of the songs back to front...I don't want to be seeing 30+ songs I already know submitted :cry: for me, this contest is a great way of discovering new music

 

I feel that BJSC6 was very much the electro-pop/dance contest

 

BJSC7 was the 'upcoming hits' contest

 

at this rate BJSC8 looks set to be the 'songs that everyone already knows' contest :lol: :( and if people start to treat the contest like that, then boredom will set in very quickly and it won't last for more than a few more months...more creative choices are needed!

Uninspiring song choices and predictable voting patterns were threatening this contest earlier on this year, to the extent that we were planning to change the contest to a system where it only occurred once every two months...thankfully your suggestion that we do it early on in May gave us BJSC VI, which definitely reinvigorated the contest's popularity. If we go back to a point where we're all just sending songs that everybody knows, we could see a massive fall in popularity in the next couple of contests - which we're bound to see anyway as the summer holidays take over, so it could end up killing the contest off in a worst case scenario! Be creative people!

I don't think i've got a chance this time around unless there's a massive backlash on well known artists/songs :lol: I'll have to find something that will get people voting :funky:
