Katy Perry. :o Let's hope she's come to save us from the absolute sheer hell and embarassment of that Kid c**k tit being #1.

And it won't die out before the physical is released, it will stay at #1 until it's released and then for a few weeks after that...

I could not have said it any better. I'm surprised so many people on Buzzjack like the "reformed" George Bush loving homophobe who makes sub standard misogynistic Limp Bizkit records.

By the way Katy Perry is already #3 on the HMV download chart = Yet another pop classic co-penned by Cathy Dennis

Great for Katy Perry though! Surely its gonna be quite hard to be #1 overall though come Sunday? I mean Kid Rock had a big head start and will have sold more between Sunday-Wednesday and will surely be on a good 15k or so by now? Thats ALOT for Katy to catch up on, especially as Kid Rock will likely sell consistantly through the week? Be impressive if she does it though. She'll easily be #1 next week.

What has it's success got to do with it's quality? Absolutely nothing, that's what. It's unusually lazy production, a totally rare case of awful lyrics which is just not what you ever expect from the wonderful Cathy Dennis, and a faux trashy, unbearable vocal. Hideous, and not a classic.

John Legend up to #53. ^_^

I loved 'I Kissed A Girl' from the moment I heard it two months ago and I knew there would be a backlash... but I still totally support it. One of my favourite songs of the year.

Yet again you are showing you lack of taste in music. :P

This song went through the US charts like a knive through hot butter (& will do the same in the UK) because it is a FUKKIN GREAT POP SONG like Can't Get You Out Of My Head, Umbrella, Toxic, Maneater, etc!

Personally I think it is all a bit contrived (as it only peaked at #10 in my Personal Chart) but I've been around long enough for my ears can tell a classic when I hear one (i.e virtually all of SAW's biggest hits) even if I don't like a song.

This song will still be a Pop standard in 25 years time (like how Billy Joel's Uptown Girl is thought of today).

I initially refused to look for it on you tube because - and no offence to anyone  - but most songs that are praised on BJ tend be the likes of Rihanna and Jordin Sparks for example, but this is great heard it on radio 1 last weekend, it is a tune and i think will be number one, hopefully this week or possibly the week after, but they should bring the physical forward or this si going to be another slow burn out record

Will the remix, the Nikki Bliss chart this week or not, cos i cant see it on the mids yet if a records been top 20 for a few days it normally sell senough for low top 30/40

Yet again you are showing you lack of taste in music. :P

Don't take down to me. 'Yet again'? It's you who thinks this silly, uneducated girl, whose lyrics actually encourage homophobia in a sense, could ever be remembered in 5 years, let alone 25. There is not a cat in hell's chance that I Kissed A Girl is a classic in the vain of Head or Toxic, and more fool you if you really think so.

I think Jark is perfectly entitled to his opinion like every other member on this forum and frankly im sick of reading all you so and so's looking down at him because you think you know everything there is to know about the business :\

As you are someone who has probably the narrowest, most ignorant taste in music I have ever met. Then I take what you say as a huge complement.

Seriously the way you big up the embarrassing excuse of a pop record by the over hyped Saturdays yet you think this song is $hite.

Still you are clearly too stupid to understand that her lyrics to I Kissed A Girl (as to the majority of her album) are IRONIC.

You probably think Al Murray Pub Landlord is a real person.

Any young artist who cites Frank Zappa's Valley Girl from 1982 as her favourite song, and the Pet Shop Boys & Alanis Morissette as major influences, and who has worked with Eurythmics' Dave Stewart & has supported and written for uber gay icon Cyndi Lauper is more than alright with me.

Just watch this song go to #1 all over the world in the next two months to follow on from its chart-topping success in the USA, Canada, Australia...... because it does not need the artist to be on every TV show available to try & get a top 10 hit, because it is a Pop Classic in the making and could well end up being the Best Selling Single of 2008 in the World. It has already sold over 1.5 million worldwide & that is before its release in Europe & Far East Asia.

Kate Perry has been around the music industry for 8 years having been part of the anonymous Matrix songwriting team providing backing vocals for the likes of Avril Lavigne & Britney Spears. She is anything but a silly, uneducated girl.

Number 1 rule of this place James - if TIP, Russ, Grimly or Mushy has an opinion, it is never wrong. When their opinions conflict, they are both right. WITH AGE COMES ARROGANCE WISDOM.

Your attitude absolutely stinks. Because Katy has a massive team behind her (who, to get her to where she is have spent an AWFUL LOT more than Polydor have or ever will on The Saturdays, might I add) who can effectively buy her hype, she is a talent of some sort? Is she? No, she cannot sing to save her life. Her arrogance and persona are downright unappealing.

Her album has been absolutely panned on your beloved Metacritic - what do you make of that? After all, that place is what you rely on to back up the majority of your view-points. Well One For The Boys has a frankly APPAULING average score of 43/100. Everyone can see her music is 'classic', eh? No, just the public; the same public who make The Sun the UK's #1 newspaper and who voted George Bush into American presidency.

You are also quite wrong about her lyrics. Perhaps you think them ironic, but in a world where gays are seen as unusual and inferior is it acceptable to describe a girl-on-girl kiss as 'so wrong'? The song is poking fun at lesbianism. It's something, I suppose, that the public aren't disgusted by it, but then again, as I asked earlier, would I Kissed A Boy sung by a man EVER take off? No, it would not. Her lyrics are not clever AT ALL. The dreadful Ur So Gay only serves to re-inforce that.

I respect that you find her to be some sort of talent or perhaps to possess some creativity, but in my eyes she has neither.

WITH AGE COMES ARROGANCE WISDOM.[/size]

Oh Jark. Do you not think this is two sided? You think your opinion is as high minded as the next persons!

Number 1 rule of this place James - if TIP, Russ, Grimly or Mushy has an opinion, it is never wrong. When their opinions conflict, they are both right. WITH AGE COMES ARROGANCE WISDOM.

Nothing beats the arrogance of YOUTH mate.

Besides your information regarding Katy Perry as an artist was totally false and ignorant. I hardly think it is unreasonable to correct you of your factually incorrect assumptions.

Some of us are interested in a lot more than whether the music/artist is good/well fit or not. Things like who produced the track, what artists they've worked with, what is there backgrounds, etc..... because it gives us a perception of where they fit in to the scheme of things in the World of Pop.

As you are someone who has probably the narrowest, most ignorant taste in music I have ever met. Then I take what you say as a huge complement.

Oh dear. No offence to them, because I judge a person on their merits and not their musical taste (unlike yourself it seems), but half of Buzzjack has a taste more narrow than I. Clearly you don't know what I actually listen to, but I'm not restricted to female pop singers who sing tacky love-on-the-dancefloor lyrics over a beat which they had no influence over as you seem to think.

Then again, my iTunes library wasn't formed in the 1980s or doesn't consist of underground artists who have yet to make it big and will be deemed sell-outs when they do so, so perhaps I am not able to talk.

[/your beloved irony].
