Posted July 9, 200816 yr It may not be getting as many plays as coldplay or duffy but the Kooks Shine On is still getting 786 plays on all the radio stations according to Nielsen Music Control.... but why? it sounds like something that was tossed off in 5 minutes to make up numbers...and even Pritchard sounds like he cant be bovvered with it either - sounds really bored with it as well  now i think even if you were to get Bez's Madchester Anthems and play the House of Love's Shine On*** 786 times back to back it would still sound better than a few minutes in the comapny of the kooks.... cnzKGQJ-DpI HOUSE OF LOVE - Shine On OXOgRvj76zI HOUSE OF LOVE - Christine ***if you dont like the house of love then it probs will work with anything off Bez's Madchester Anthems (well apart from the one that goes HnahnahardcoreUProar )....tho Bowie's Life On Mars would probs stand up to 786 continuous plays better  - now i wonder if there's a radio station like that - would take wyatting to another level... http://www.worldinmotion.net/neworder/discography/compilations/2006/bez.jpg ueUOTImKp0k
July 9, 200816 yr Yeah its a boring song, but i like it :P . It doesn't deserve so many plays. I mean i expected Radio 1 to A List it obviously but i've heard it on LOCAL RADIO! And local radio only play old stuff and a handful of songs from this Millenium (as long as they sold at least half a million copies) Local Radio- Making Overplayed songs, even more overplayed. :P
July 9, 200816 yr It's an alright song for the summer but their new songs are so dull compared to the last album. :(
July 11, 200816 yr Yeahh I really like it too. It is a tad dull though, as much as I like the track... i'm still shocked they made this the 2nd single instead of Sway! The latter would have made a MUCH better choice, but these days, not many acts can seem to score a hit with their 2nd single anyway...
July 14, 200816 yr I really hate it when lame-ass bands give their sorry tunes the same titles as genuinely classic ones.... It immediately makes me think that they're doing a cover.... Frankly, I lost count of the amount of shoe-gazer bands in the early 90s who used the word "shine" in a song-title after House of Love wrote their legendary tune.....
July 14, 200816 yr It's pretty dreadful and dreary, even by their standards. And considering how low the standards are of The Kooks, this is really saying summat.....
August 22, 200816 yr Sway is alright but i'd have preffered One last time or Tick of time as the next single.
August 22, 200816 yr I like Tick of time ( It's far to early in the mooooornnniiiiin... ), it's one of my favs off the album but think Sway is more of a single material
