That's a very good question for discussion, nice one, I have to think of some now, but I can't think of anything just yet.

That Petrol Emotion had seven. Beat that!

Gorky's Zygotic Mynci has eight didn't they?, "Patio Song" reached No41.

Rick James has been credited on 6 top 75 hits (including 4 top 50 hits) without reaching the top 40.

 

Ladytron have had 5 top 75 hits (4 of which reached the top 45) without reaching the top 40.

Suddenly thought of Sultans Of Ping.

 

7 hits 92 - 94, all missed the top 40, apart from "You Talk Too Much" (number 26, in Jan 93).

 

 

Or maybe Tindersticks...they released 22 singles 92 - 03, but only made the top 40 once with "Bathtime", in June 97.
