July 24, 200817 yr In all honesty, its a waste of time talking about it anyway because there are so many different theories. The point is, its never been written anywhere official whats happening with this and at the end of the day, if the girls keep saying they have had 18 consecutive top tens etc, the mass public will just accept it.
July 24, 200817 yr On the flipside of this argument however, had 'St. Trinian's Theme' been allowed to continue charting and gone top 10... I'm sure the fans would class it as another top 10 single.

July 24, 200817 yr Ohhh Im really stuck as to whether to count it or not! I was reading the Now 70 sleeve and they said they have had 17 consecutive Top 10 hits but if the song had reached Top 40 and everybody had a chance to hear it... would it have broken their record? That would never "break" their record, that would stop them to make it bigger with 18, 19 or 20 consecutives hits! The 17th consecutive hits is something that can't be broken! And as already said, if any album track is counted as a single as long as it reaches the top75, then Leona has already broken her top3 run

They probably would but if it went top 10, it would have been more clear. Like i said, really, its about what the industry and the girls have said themselves that is important. Most of this controversy has come from people who want to leave a bad taste in the mouths of GA fans but really, i don't think we are that bothered. They have still had more top tens than any girl band yet and their record of 17 will never be broken so.......... Edited July 24, 200817 yr by Robintime11
July 24, 200817 yr I think we should get back on topic and tbh we could argue back and forth for days about this and it still wouldnt be resolved
July 24, 200817 yr Yeh, so whats happening with kylies single, is it download only? Yes. But someone has said it isnt chart eligiable?!?!? Which i dont understand as it is on the album!! No video either and she isnt performing it at every date on her X tour so i am not quite sure why she is even bothering with it at all to be honest. Shame as it's such a good track, should've been the first single
July 24, 200817 yr Because shes maybe trying to get away form 'X' now and trying to move onto another project... thats the only thing i can come up with  What happened to 'All I See'? She made a cheap video to that didnt she?

She made a cheap video to that didnt she? No, that's not it. Basically, her label blew all the promotion money they set aside for the project and had no money left by the time a 4th single came around. Which means they basically couldn't afford to film a video for 'The One'. I guess this also contributes towards 'The One' not getting a physical release. Though there are rumours that Kylie and the label's relationship has been on rocky ground since last year, and she's leaving them after this (as have many Parlo's big high profile acts on their roster).
