Posted August 12, 200816 yr X Factor's Nicki Evans is realising her debut single "Love Me No More" its out 15th September but only on downloads , Tbh it hasnt got a chance of reaching Top 75 a few reasons. 1) Download Release Only. 2) Haven't Heard It On Radio. 3) No Promotion. Do you think it will hit Top 40 or not even chart ?
August 12, 200816 yr It'll be lucky to go T200. I agree. Artists/record companies should learn that hardly any download only releases succeed, especially with little to no promotion. Ok, recently Coldplay had a download only #1 and Rihanna reached #9 so far with a song that has no confirmed release...yet. But Niki Evans is no Rihanna or Coldplay. Even Kylie only reached #36 with a download only single with little promo and dropped out of the top 75 the next week.
August 12, 200816 yr as long as it's not a sympathy love ballad then that's fine but still songs coming out now which are released next month which aren't doing much in promotion or airplay will flop E.G. Alicia keys superwoman,Daniel Powter's Next plane home & This one too But i want to be proven wrong
August 12, 200816 yr It be lucky to get top 500 You're probably right  . Her album might get top 100 though ;) :P

You no longer need a physical release to go top 10. Just because most big hits still have a physical release, it doesn't mean they wouldn't have been big had they been download only. If a single is going to be a hit, it will with or without a CD release. And you're being too early to judge how Niki will do as it's not even out for another 4 weeks.

This may be true, but seeing physical CDs in stores can act as promo itself because it can be a form of advertising - see the cd, go home and download it. However, there are four weeks left before the release which is plenty of time for promo, considering that Leona only started promoting 'Bleeding Love' one week before its release and went on to sell around 220 000 copies in its first week, mind you, Nicki is no Leona.
August 15, 200816 yr Which one was Nicki again? She was in the older category. There were lots of references to her dead dad in the interview packages
August 15, 200816 yr She was in the older category. There were lots of references to her dead dad in the interview packages Don't remind me. We heard her bloody story EVERY week. -_- She wasn't that good tbh, she had one good performance of out the whole series (Nothing Compares To You), and that was it. I doubt this will go T200.
August 17, 200816 yr I never really got her. She just screamed and shouted a lot and everyone told her she had a 'belter' of a voice?
