Yes I have and I could go into great depth as to why I believe their output of the last 10 years is atrocious. That's if you so wish?

come on then explain.....

The new Oasis song is very 'safe' isn't it? It's not got anything amazingly catchy or different to it, in my opinon of course.

Please stop talking about Oasis. This is a thread about the Radio 1 playlist.

Oasis have produced nothing of note for the last 10 years. Their first album was great and Morning Glory was great in parts (let down by two or three songs though). But since then they've not progressed their sound at all, it's just rehash after rehash of everything they've done before. They should've quit years ago, they'd be far more deserving of being one of the best ever bands if they had, now they're just a complete joke.

And I own 5 Oasis albums so it's not as if I haven't listened to them or it's not the type of music I don't listen to, they're just c**p! Only 'Songbird' (which isn't really special, I just like it) and 'The Importance Of Being Idle' I have any real time for from their past four albums.

The Importance Of Being Idle is the only song of their's from this decade that has gone down as a 'classic'...Stop Crying Your Heart out has the trademarks of a classic but hasn't quite made the full transition from ordinary to classic in the same way that Wonderwall, Don't Look Back In Anger and Live Forever did
EDIT

You do know thats the one of the people you DONT want to mess with on here... dont you?

Oasis are by far the most overrated band ever, they make me want to hurl! :puke2:

I'm quite surprised about that too, but mainly because I seem to hear it whenever I listen to Radio 1.

Yup, I absolutely hate Oasis aswell. I'm not massively a fan of indie/rock as it is, but I would say it's mostly only fans that buy their music, not general music lovers like ten-plus years ago. I would agree with the majority of comments, they have been very, very unprogressive with their sound and their arrogance makes them think 'why should we change? we're the best ever still' type of attitude.

Now he knows. -_-

The Oasis song 'Lyla' reminds me of some Busted track.

Urgh, Oasis make me want to bleach my ears. Disguting band. :puke:

Yay for PCD and Miley. :w00t:

people hate oasis for their attitude that's all...

If a new And upcoming band released albums like don't believe the turth, heathen chemisty etc everyone would be creaming their pants.

Its pretty unfair to judge a band on their attitude.

And people who say oasis sound the same are clearly jumping on the bandwagon of "we hate oasis"...standing on the shoulder of giants had a really experimental vibe to it(sounds nothing like any other oasis album). Even the last record was a different approach songs like (the importance of being idle, mucky fingers, the meaning of soul, part of the queue, guess god thinks i'm abel) are vastly differentg to oasis's normal sound.

Oasis will always be judged on Liam and noels views. But still they are one of the most important bands to come out of the UK...Just look at the amount of bands that state oasis as an influence or inspiration today.( even bands like coldplay, the killers, kasabian, arctic monkeys etc) hail oasis as a massive inspiration...god even BONO dedicated a song from their last album to Noel Gallagher.

This is one of the biggest pieces of $h!t I've ever read on this forum. And considering it's full of people who worship the most average of Girls Aloud songs that's some achivement...

If a band had released 'Don't Believe The Truth' at the time Oasis had, they'd almost certainly not be about now. Even the most generic of current indie bands have more to them than Oasis have had in recent years.

And those bands may cite Oasis as huge influences, but you'd be kidding yourself if you think it's on anything post 'Morning Glory'.
