Saw them on Saturday for the first time ever and DAAAAMN they were so so good.

I want to see them again already. :(

I made a playlist of my favourite songs of theirs on the way...it had 48 songs in it so I knew they wouldn't be able to do all of them but they did the majority of the ones I'd have wanted. Only ones I really wish they had done are 'I Still Remember', 'Talons' and 'Sunday.

Bizarrely, 'One More Chance' was probably my favourite. I've always loved it but thought it wasn't favoured by most fans?! Everyone went craaazy for it.

I bought a poster which Matt Tong had apparently trodden on beforehand (there was a footprint on it). Most probably the merch people just trying to sell it but I don't even care, I'm just going to pretend that it really is his footprint on my wall. Creeper.

I'd be so disappointed if I'd actually had some decent anticipation for this. So dull.

And I'm fine with them moving in new directions: I think Intimacy is their best album! Just not this. What a fall from grace. :(

YES.

I've been fortunate to see Bloc Party (I've just sat here counting) 7 times over the past 4 or 5 years. They used to be one of my favourite bands but I'm really not a fan of their latest release 'Four'. Their debut album and select tracks from their 2nd and 3rd will stick with me forever though.

It won't be their last gig EVER come AWN. Doctor Bitch bitch.
I'm blaming you if it happens. That is if I don't DIE OF SADNESS BECAUSE OF THEM SPLITTING first. :(

Bloc Party are set to release brand new material in the shape of the 'Nextwave Sessions' EP.

Comprising five tracks, the EP is set for release on August 12. The opening two songs, 'Ratchet' and 'Obscene', were produced by Dan Carey. The EP also features 'French Exit', 'Montreal' and 'Children Of The Future'. Of 'Ratchet', frontman Kele Okereke said: "'Ratchet' was the first song we recorded with Dan. It really came together while we were on tour in 2012. We started slipping it into the sets at the start of this year just to try it out and the reactions were insane. We knew we had something special."

The 'Nextwave Sessions' tracklisting is:

'Ratchet'

'Obscene'

'French Exit'

'Montreal'

'Children Of The Future'

I dig the chorus guitar.

Is it just me or this song is better than 80% of Four?

Ratchet is like a result of Tenderoni and something off A Silent Alarm put into a blender. In loooooove <3

They were BRILLIANT at LAtitude (as expected) but so-so awkward - it's clear that they won't continue as a band for much longer sadly, Steve Lamacq introduced them as though it was their last ever gig(!)

Sarah Jones drummed instead of Matt Tong and she was ok, not as good though. :(

They started with "So Here We Are", and ended with "This Modern Love", but they hardly played any Intimacy tracks.

This is a band I haven't listened to in years. Need to get caught up what they've been up to. Thanks for the reminder!
I don't want the EP they will release in August to be their last EVER. Can Kele at least continue the solo work? :(
