August 27, 200817 yr I don't think it's that unlikely. Both are on downloads only and Eric Prydz is very close to overtaking her. That will be a very close battle this week and also next week :o :cheer: Finally some excitement in the chart
August 27, 200817 yr It's a case for me of a song I hate (Katy) vs a song I love (Eric). See also 2003 when The Darkness fought against Gary Jules, sadly the one I didn't like won on that occasion. I really really want Pjanoo to be number 1, it'd be so awesome!!
August 27, 200817 yr I never thought it could happen, but I think Eric Prydz could be #1 this week and next when the physicals come out. Katy Perry only has one format on CD, while Pjanoo appears to be on two CDs plus 12 inch. Also, the Perry buyers would have been Woolworth shoppers (thus resulting in no sales now!), rather than HMV and Zavvi, where Eric Prydz will definitely outsell Katy Perry. :D
August 27, 200817 yr What makes you think people that buy Katy's physical will shop in Woolworths?! Because I feel that the Katy Perry song appeals to a more mainstream audience; the kind of person that listens to the Capital FM group of stations and doesn't usually shop at HMV and Zavvi. Pjanoo appeals more to pure music fans and Radio 1 listeners who will shop at HMV and Zavvi or order the physical single online.

August 27, 200817 yr But what gives you ideas of what people go to HMV or Zavvi? From many long visits to HMV and Zavvi and observing the shoppers there. Many people can't be bothered going to an HMV and buy all their music at a supermarket or Woolworth's.

Paul mate, Katy is the top pre-order at HMV at the moment, and Eric is only in 4th place there. So, your theory goes out the window. While Capital FM, gave "Pjanoo", a big plug on Lucio`s show this week, too. It isn`t likely to dethrone Katy, during both physical releases. What you say about Woolworths isn`t true either, as they do not even stock singles anymore.
August 28, 200817 yr Can't believe how badly The Automatic's album is doing... shame too as it's a really good album. Mind you, it has been getting a lot of bad reviews. Their label has really screwed them, same as they did with the single. At the moment, it's still not available on itunes, and they haven't sold it into the supermarkets like tesco and sainsbury's, meaning the only real place to get it is HMV and Zavvi, hence the low chart position. Real shame, and seems like someone at their label really has it in for them!!

August 28, 200817 yr Biffy at #4 :o :cheer: I'm so pleased this will be a hit for them! But a shame the Automatic have dropped out of the album chart completely :(
August 28, 200817 yr Author There is a distribution problem with the Automatic's album, some supermarkets have not got their stock yet of the album, I heard the band are not very happy about it, I think the record company are to blame. There's hardly any new entries in the singles chart, nothing new there. Another boring chart.
August 28, 200817 yr What all this rubbish about Eric Prydz fans will go to HMV but Katy Perry fans would have been more likely to shop at Woolworths :P I love Katy Perry and i'm going to HMV - NOT Woolworths (even if they sold it or not) - to get her single next week. (saying that, the CD tracklisting leaves a lot to be desired, they should be releaseing in on more formats -_- ) I just hope she can stay at the top another few weeks. August 28, 200817 yr Brilliant for Biffy! Just fabulous. I love 'Mountains' but much rather they'd had this level of success last year wit hthe amazing 'Folding Stars' <33333 I hate that Prydz song. I liked 'Call On Me' for five minutes or so but I've never seen anything special about his songs yet he keeps pulling out the hits. Bizarre. I think it'll definately be close between him and Katy but for all we know she could be battering him on dowloads which would make the physical gap next week harder to make up for.
August 28, 200817 yr Oh and I have a question. Katy Perry has had the longest stay at the top on just downloads now hasn't she?
