Mutya's album isn't amazing at all to me, it's just there. Every track is competent (nothing skippable) but few are great.

Just bought the album (and High School Musical 3 :kink:) and I actually love it! One of there best IMO.
It is easily their best album for me.

Same. It's so bizarre, I can't imagine now never having had this album. I can barely remember thinking Taller was their best effort!

There were loads of tracks which I just instantly loved from the very first listen too, namely Hanging, Side Chick and Truce. Woo.

Rating:

Girls - I think it's a great lead single, but not their best. 9.5/10

You On A Good Day - A nice song, not the best on the album. 7/10

No Can Do - A good choice for the next single. 9.5/10

Hanging On A Star - An incredible song, really hope it becomes a single. 9/10

Side Chick - I first listened to it and thought it was terrible, but now I like it. 8/10

Unbreakable Heart - A lovely song, not much else to say! 10/10

Sunday Rain - Another fantastic song, just incredible. 9/10

Every Heart Broken - Really should've been the second single, but hopefully the third. 10/10

Beware - A great different style from the rest of the album. 8.5/10

Nothing's As Good As You - I haven't stopped listening to this song! 9.5/10

Sound Of Goodbye - Not really in to this song much. 6.5/10

Can We Call A Truce - An amazing song, love it! 10/10

About You Now (Acousic Version) - A great version of the song. 9.5/10

She's Like A Star - The girls make this song much better! 8.5/10

Overall, I think the album is definitely their best: 9/10

Well the foul argument doesn't stand up with me because I don't and don't see how anybody else could find it generic. What else does it sound like? NOT Ciara. I did try and hear some similarity but frankly there's none.

I'm probably coming across really freaking arsey right now but all of this 'Itz such a rubbish album!1 No big choruses like on Change where you cud guess da words b4 you even herd dem!!z' crap is so ridiculous. Does nobody around here care for anything at all more than a big pop chorus? Buzzjack is the only forum suffering this influx of close-mindedness. Go and look at Popjustice or Ukmix where they're actually excited for a new direction.

Would you REALLY be happy with a third retread of Taller In More Ways? Really?

I'm all for a 'New Direction' but only if it's good... which IMO this album isn't as good as some fans make-out. It seems to be very love/hate with the fans. And I'm sorry but i'm in the 'Hate' part. The thing that's made me 'Hate' it though is mainly because it's so disappointing, aswell as (apart from a couple) very forgettable songs. I can't even remember how any of them go. :( Sorry but if I knew the album was gonna sound like this when they said they wanted to go in a 'New Direction' then I would rather prefer a 'third retread of Taller in More Ways' -_- But that's my opinion. Sorry :(

LOL, don't be sorry. I feel mean now. I'm just glad you've explained yourself a bit, I really hate the posts which just say 'this album is so rubbish. Really bad', it's like at least justify it!

exactly!

if you have an negative opinion, fine thats wonderful for you, just please as jark said don't say fooking diabolical, worst album in world history, $h!tness!!!!111!1!!!!! at least explain what you hate about it. Lyrics, vocals, lack of electro-pop etc.

Criticism without anything to back it up is a waste of a post and is quite likely to end in an argument.

At least with constructive criticism (ie an explanation) it's easier to see where you're coming from and is easier to build a proper discussion around.

listened to it once, and heard it playing in both HMV and Woolies! love would be a strong emotion but I did like it a lot and it certainly sounds like a grower, unlike some albums where after the first listen I think 'right, I'm not listening to that ever again'[/bittersweetworld]

really liked the two tracks after Girls and the ballad at the end before the bonus tracks :D

Been listening to Side Chick and I think it could get quite annoying in time.

liking what i heard so far- and anyone who doesn't know only £6.71 IN ASDA!! Prob just this week so snap it up i say!

Ps- F1mad just saw your tagline below your profile name: "What did i do? Premonition the man to death?" "Morality Bites" i believe? Charmed totally rocks you made my day (if a new sugas album hadn't already) :D

I need more time to decide! :o seems good so far though and rofl at back down- i mean, i know what they were going for but it just sounded all brassy and they sounded rough

The only thing I don't like about the album is Heidi is barely on it! and sometimes they make her voice to computerised.

at least on EHB and Sunday Rain she really stands out.

That is true. I don't really hear Heidi. :(

I believe it is! i was watching it the other day and thought that would be an awesome MSN name lol

I think the album will get to number 3/4 on sales of around 50k!

If that is the case, i think it would be a good start!
