They've just signed their new Island Records contract () so they're not going to get dropped

People can sign contracts and get dropped after if its fair. So if the album sold like 200k (which i know it wont), Island most probs has the right to drop them. Thats if they lost enough money.

Got my copy today. #8, i thought it would be higher than that, hopefully it will rise in the new few days.

I cant actually believe this, i thought a top 5 placing with sales of 45k were certain. Its a shame actually, i mean Amelle must feel like a bad omen, but she's not at all - IMO she's the best thing the band has ever had/done.

 

I think the problem is that Suga's sell albums off the back of their lead single (which is usually massive) so many people havent bought it after the average chart performance of 'Girls'. It could be saved with the next single (although i dont think it can leap back up from the depths of top 40/75 where it will be once NCD is released) and sell some more copies. Although we could be looking at their lowest selling album since 'One Touch' though, not good ... though they'll never get dropped.

Think you're totally right about this. A shock but the lead single does really shift it for them and they've all been massive whereas "Girls" is only big

 

It won't go top 5, which is a shame as the album does have some good songs and is overall stronger than Change I would say.

 

It's like I said in the midweek thread, who exactly in the music buying public outside of their fanbase is going to be persuaded to buy an album solely after hearing 'Girls'? Not many at all.

For the same reasons as above, but hopefully the week one loyal fans will help it get there. Overall quality is better than Change

 

She's Like A Star - why is this on here? it should be a bonus track on Taio's album not Sugas...it would be like Rihanna putting Live Your Life on one of her albums...very odd... 8/10 for the song 1/10 for its inclusion

 

on the whole, I'd give the album 8.5/10. The only song I really dislike is Girls, although Beware and Sound Of Goodbye don't do anything for me either really...the bonus tracks are pointless too...other than that, a great selection of songs :D

Bonus tracks are just that- bonus. Not worthy as main tracklisting but AYN acoustic was recently a very popular download (thanks to Hollyoaks use of it) giving AYN a top 75 resurgence and i think a number of their big fans will appreciate a properly recorded version on a CD. Also the version featuring Sugababes of the Taio Cruz song was not on the CD single and was only available on itunes (not everyone has an ipod) as a download if you knew to look for it. It received a significant amount of website press coverage considering its status (e.g. popjustice and i read a clipping in a national paper about it which incorrectly stated it was included on the CD single), so again i think fans will be happy to have a good quality version of it thrown in gratis, i certainly am!

 

Album stickers always say that. :/ The Change one said 'includes the hits About You Now and Change'. It's not unusual.

Yeah loads of albums do it now but it bugs me as it's very presumptuous. e.g. Britney's Blackout listed Radar on the cover and that went nowhere so now it just seems stupid :wacko:

I've listened to it once and thought it was fairly good surprisingly, a few standout tracks, and I quite like the two bonus tracks too!

 

I couldn't see the Cascada deluxe edition anywhere in town...it must be an online exclusive...let me know if/when it arrives and if the DVD is any good

If you read his review he say's he likes the songs, but I think he just doesn't get why they're on the album! (Which I can kinda see where he's getting at) :lol:

Why do all of you think that Sugas will rise by the end of the week? I think it'll stick at #8 or even go down to #9, 10 or outside of Top10! I don't see anything that can boost sales now, unfortunately, it's such a flop era, and only Every Heart Broken can save it IMO. So, I'll wait for a third single and hopefully it will be Every Heart Broken.

Saturday shoppers at Asda could help it- Only £6.00 this week!

:heehee: I like the bonus tracks, and I agree with you that it's nice that they are free, but they do ruin the flow of the album a tad, I would have preferred a bonus second disc with these two tracks, plus maybe a live version and video of Girls or something similar

Still at #8, I don't think it will reach Top 5 now - I think it will only get #6 highest. But, because this week there are quite a few big released that will sell a lot, maybe it is selling quite a bit that would actually be a Top 5 place, but because of those other albums it isn't.

I still think the sales will be respectable and that it will sell a big amount when the other singles come out- think it will do well over Christmas time

I just noticed a genious lyric in 'Every Heart Broken' - "the last boy was a director on the silver screen, he wrote a slasher flick just for me. When he said cut I took it lierally". :lol:

 

I'm seriously loving that song, so well written and clever lyrically. They really should release it second, it will be the only song that could help the album and if it's dead in the water after the second single bombing and not helping it, it will be too late. :(

Apparently it sold a mere 7,000 copies yesterday, yes you read correctly. I dont have a CLUE whats going on but the record company have really f***ed up this time, as i've been saying for the past few months.
