Her name was Big red but she left the athletic world to become an exotic dancer.

Trevor Mispeka.

If you've never heard of him, he entered the 100m at the 2001 World Athletics Championships, and did it in 14.28seconds. Not surprising, really, when you consider he weighed over 20 stone. See also Wikipedia.

Why were the first few replies about weight?

It is called 'a joke'. I THOUGHT THE IDEA OF JOKES HAD HIT DERBYSHIRE FOLK AFTER TALKING TO PEOPLE FROM THAT REGION :o

Infact, maybe they were from Staffordshire... :|

Is Michael Jordan still making money? Or is this one of them 'Of All Time' lists?

I'm from neither of those, coming - as I do - from a tiny place in Midlothian called Edinburgh. It's only a small place, so you might not have heard of it.

I expect Kimi Raikkonen and Fernando Alonso are quite high up, I saw that athletes who are paid in Euros are going up the list becuase the Euro is becoming worth more.

At least it's not as bad as Belfast - it's largely in County Antrim, but isn't it's county seat (even though, on the island, only Dublin is bigger).

In 2007, Kimi Räikkönen replaced Michael Schumacher at the Scuderia Ferrari F1 team. Signed at a price tag in the $50million range, much was expected of the "IceMan".

I don't think Alonso is paid an awful lot by Renault hense the switch to McLaren which didn't turn out so well.

I'm surprised that the pay on that list is quite so low - they don't seem to be quite the billionaires that people make them out to be
