I buck the trend when it comes to this i tend to like the newer versions :P. Its probably because i never really got into the originals if they are old. September 5, 200816 yr they should NEVER re-mix old classics. they belong to a certain time and era, with associated memories. it completely ruins its nostalgic value to re-hash it and shove it in a different context.
September 6, 200816 yr I think sometimes they can work if they offer a new slant on the song, I really like both versions of Utah Saints' 'Something Good' and Gusto's 'Disco's Revenge'. Some are just pointless, why on earth would anyone want to remix songs like Children and Carte Blanche? I think one of the all-time best updates of a song is the 1997 remix of The Source's 'You Got The Love', that's absolutely incredible!
