September 10, 200816 yr I like having some of the different stuff in this competition. I quite like that song from Norwegia this time. :o Lumsk I think they're called. The text is actually about a norwegian underground creature called nøkken. Nøkken plays on his fiddle to tempt mostly children but even also adults to come to him. Then nøkken drink their blood. Nøkken live in small lochs in the woods. Like other norwegian supernatural nøkken feeds on human flesh. I guess nøkken is one of the most scary beeing in the woods. Quite a few people still believes on nøkken and if you have seen norwegian woods you will probarbly understand why!!Â
September 10, 200816 yr Lumsk - Nøkken Nøkken, sits and plays Can you hear the fiddle From the river you can hear "slåtten" (kind of Norwegian song) It's evilness that reigns here He tempts you women to him It's you whom can hear him best He plays for you Hear "slåtten" from west If you go to the place where the music comes from he waits for you He can mutate be an eagle who flies From the river yoy can hear "slåtten" It's evilness who reigns It's you whom can hear him best he plays to get you Can you hear "slåtten" from west? September 11, 200816 yr  Is it just me, or the recap videos are not working?  Voted! Semi Final 1 was really easy :heehee:
September 11, 200816 yr Is it just me, or the recap videos are not working? Â Voted! Semi Final 1 was really easy :heehee:Â Does that mean you voted for me :P?
September 11, 200816 yr SF1 is basically split into 2 categories in both genres and artists. I shouldnt vote for the cheap entries or just artists already known but in this case i did just because the others were major let downs- no offense. SF2 must be a nailbiter for all those in it
September 11, 200816 yr I think all of the new countries ended up in semi-1 which was surprising, and most of the unknown songs/artists were from these countries I think...
September 11, 200816 yr Yeah, semi 1 just seems filled with unknown songs and a lot of female solo artists.
September 11, 200816 yr Katy Perry, Dido, Christina Aguilera, Keri Hilson, Ladyhawke, Daft Punk, Gwen Stefani are reasonably or completely well known. .
September 11, 200816 yr Katy Perry, Dido, Christina Aguilera, Keri Hilson, Ladyhawke, Daft Punk, Gwen Stefani are reasonably or completely well known. . Compared to those Ladyhawke is a complete nobody. She's certainly no less well known than The Knife and less known than CSS, Colbie Callait and MIA. Edited September 11, 200816 yr by RabbitFurCoat
September 11, 200816 yr Compared to those Ladyhawke is a complete nobody. She's certainly no less well known than The Knife and less known than CSS, Colbie Callait and MIA. Colbie Caillat is definitely well known, maybe just because she recently came out in the UK. But Bubbly, Realize etc were hitting number ones, top20s in the US, Aus, South Africa early last year- so she is pretty well known. MIA are well known by now Paper Planes is top 10 and on charts everywhere. Ladyhawke is already on her 2nd single after Paris Is Burning. So if you havent heard of them then you really are still in the iron ages. . Edited September 11, 200816 yr by Katherine.
September 11, 200816 yr Author Just two more days and only 6 people left to vote - Will we finally get a penatly free competition? and I would just like to thank all the great comments I've had through in the votes - thanks for making such a high quality competition for BJSC X ^_^
September 11, 200816 yr haha...i'm the only one in my semi who hasn't voted  Â I ALWAYS leave it till the last day though...
September 11, 200816 yr Ladyhawke is already on her 2nd single after Paris Is Burning. So if you havent heard of them then you really are still in the iron ages. Her first single was hardly big in the UK though. :lol:Â haha...i'm the only one in my semi who hasn't voted  Â I ALWAYS leave it till the last day though... :o I wonder if Tom would put us out of our misery early if we all got our votes in before the deadline. :teresa:
September 12, 200816 yr Author Unfortunately we still have 5 nations yet to submit their votes so I can't see the results being released early
September 12, 200816 yr Unfortunately we still have 5 nations yet to submit their votes so I can't see the results being released early I wouldn't expect you to actually release them early anyway. :lol:Â I reckon you'll get votes from the last two in semi 1 but none from semi 2. Both people in my semi often send votes in as late as allowed. Alex of Sangria seems to have disappeared , Martyn said he might not find time to vote and Bertie...well. I've reminded him to vote on MSN twice but I'm guessing he hasn't found the time to vote.
September 12, 200816 yr I wonder where Alex (Sangria) has gone, i haven't seen them post here for quite a while :o
