The promise is no1 in pre orders on hmv :D

Woo :yahoo:

The promise is no1 in pre orders on hmv

Yet another piece of amazing news to add to this era!

i've pre-ordered it, along with my 7" form the official. Neither have been dispatched yet, HMV usually starts singles on a Thursday so :D

Could you keep me up to date on when your single arrives Matt? Its just i want to pre-order the tour dvd from them but i want it to get to me on the day of release so it would be interesting to see when your pre-ordered single arrives.

Prediction : I.Think.This.Will.Be.Their.4th.Number.1

Management have said that almost all the ltd edition 7" records have gone.

So thats 5000 sales for monday, wooooo!

good signs for this so far but i don't know if they can manage number 1. I mean if call the shots couldn't (a better song), wtf can! I'm thinking at least top 5 and possibly 3.

The album probably won't be no1 either if they're still against Dido and i think they'll do well to get 40k opening week, but who knows? Depends where "The Promise" lands.

Glad they've brought the release forward and combined the formats, should concentrate the sales and boost position (unlike sugababes 3.5 week release schedule for "Girls" which was good in sales but probably limited chart position), also means i can run out and get the CD so much sooner yay! :D

Yeh but CTS was released on full release a week after the album, other wise it would have probably been no1. Plus, when it got to no3, there was some major competition.

good points, and it also wasn't actually the lead single. I remember it was fleeting no1 in the midweeks too, so exciting at the time!

SNNN! was a spectacular song, and only managed no5 as a lead last time, but i think it takes time to appreciate it's amazingness so perhaps that was why.

Still think its a weaker song overall which is the main problem, but never underestimate the X-factor effect i say!

^^ SNNN was an amazing track but its an acquired taste, it was very popular with GA fans but not so much with radio and everyone else. It did quite badly on radio airplay. Its go so much energy and will go down as one of my favourite GA tracks.

The x-factor performance will gain a lot of press because its the first time a judge has performed on the show and a lot of people do like cheryl and will want to hear her sing to see if simon and louis make a comment etc. I think its gona be popular anyway next week because its jacko week.

They say "hurry up ordering your copy because they're nearly all gone!", it looks more like easy marketing to push people to buy it

Hopefully they will have sold all of them by the end of next week, that would make 5.000 copies already, and I guess they can sell a further thousands of the CD single in shops, which would give a great help!

Does anyone know how much a #1 on the Physical charts does usually sell?

probably about 5,000 now  unless it's a charity release/Peter Kay song/X Factor winner.

I'm going to try and preorder my tour DVD from Play.com as they have always been quite zippy for me for normal deliveries. Until I saw HMV was cheaper

And as for the album (unless the SE is only available from the official) I'll get from work.

Wow I love "She"!

Great b-side, will keep me excited til tonight's performance !

Oooh I like 'She' but I think it's because it is what I imagine a B-Side to be ^_^ Quite possibly one of my fave B-Sides
