Not 3 exits in one episode last night :o

That one really hit hard, along with last week's, just showing how much pressure the NHS is genuinely under and I'm glad the BBC aren't shying away from it as it makes it more true to life.

I do wonder where things can go from here. That was 3 main characters gone just like that, not to mention there only being 3 nurses a part of the lead cast now. Sacha appearing too was a nice touch, but it baffles me it's taken them almost a whole year to have any sort of Holby City crossover.

I am surprised more of Holby haven’t actually crossed over permanently!

And just like that Jaye Jacobs has joined reprising her role as Donna Jackson from Holby City. Her character is reassigned to the ED following the departure of Marty and David.

Donna will be joined by 4 new nurses: Ryan (Eddie-Joe Robinson), Rida (Sarah Seggari), Jodie (Anna Chell) and Cam (Barney Walsh).

I fail to believe Barney Walsh was the best “actor” to go for the role but okay.
It's been a long time coming really for Charlie. I've noticed him appearing far less frequently too and he's had nothing to do since Duffy died. A shame as Derek is a great actor when given the material. Please don't kill him off, PLEASE.

Quite the hard hitting episode tonight to round out this block of episodes.

The next 12 episode arc is called 'Sinking Ships'. Kellie Shirley (Carly Wicks in EastEnders) is joining as Sophia Peters.

I had wondered how the episode reduction was going to properly manifest but it's exactly the same as last year. The finale of the current block is airing tonight but after that it will be off air until Christmas. It was such a long break last year ugh 😩

If you don't want to wait until tonight, the Christmas special is up on iPlayer already. It's a very strong story on blood donation and its impacts now and in the past whilst being interspersed with real life stories. Stevie and Dylan were amazing!

An 'Invitation to Tender' has gone out to production companies to invite them to produce 3 series of Casualty from 2026 which will focus on more of a setting in Wales. Wyvern Valley, the fictional South Western area of England where it's currently set, will no longer be the focus of the show with a change coming in to focus on a portrayal of the Welsh NHS. Intrigued how they'll address it and hope it's not just blowing up the hospital and everyone "moving" so hopefully it's tactful. The BBC have said in their request "The move to Wales will also present opportunities for new cast members but we would expect that much loved characters to remain part of the editorial shift to the location of the new Welsh hospital." This could mean some significant cast changes, nothing we're not already used to really but hopefully it's not too dramatic.

Anyway, the show is off air until next month, no return date as of yet.
